**LA Kings vs. Vegas Golden Knights HOME OPENER GDT 10/11/22 7:00pm on ESPN & ESPN+**

After 2 sweet comeback goals... Wtf was that with 25 seconds left Durzi? Sit there for a minute then do the dumbest play you can think of? Ugh. It's 1am. GKG.

Sloppy play in taking all those penalties costs them the game. Kings are going to break Quickie, then what? Cal has some kind of mental block and has looked like ****. I know it's the first game, but I.HATE.VEGAS!

Why on earth would you try to play for the extra point by sitting behind the net for 30 seconds? Only to go for a extremely dumb stretch pass. Who called that play??? Did you think you were going to lull the Knights to sleep? Idoit. Retart. Morans!!!!!!!

Rough night by Roy, great game by Durzi until he went into the Stanford stall and then a horrible up ice pass that was stolen and then a beautiful shot. The Kings had so many chances to clear pucks but Roy was doing the no look reverse pass and then picked off. It looked like the offense had no idea what Durzi was doing so they were confused. Quick played great but two many great chances by Vegas.

Durzi made them pay, why the F is he trying to make a home run play when they were obviously holding the puck for OT. Sure he’s getting an earful

Durzi is a high risk/high reward player. Kings were by Quickie's net taking their own sweet time, thinking that the clock would run out...easy pass right? but they gave it to the one guy who plays risky instead of guys like Kopi. If you're waiting for OT, fine, give it to the "safe hands" crew not Durzi.

Outside of quick, the whole team sucked. Apart from a few minutes we couldn't skate, pass, change appropriately . Vegas should have won big.

Positives were Vilardi and his line having a good game. Quickie kept them in there.

I'm glad Vilardi is making TMac look stupid now. He along with his line played good tonight. It was the only line that showed up for the game. Quick play great too. Fiala needs to crank it up like right now. He is big money and needs to produce like big money. He was a ghost on the ice tonight.

Durzi played great, but he definitely had a VERY ill-timed brain cramp there at the end to cost us the game. Matt Roy on the other hand, who I am normally a supporter of, was an absolute dumpster fire tonight. Mikey Anderson was definitely not looking up to par either.

I must have been watching another game. I saw turnovers, missed passes, missed clears, and general defensive lapses that cost the team.

Also, Stone pretty much owned us all night. He was everywhere disrupting everything. He played with the kind of attitude we had last year.

The bottom line is, 51 SOG for Vegas. That’s a team issue. Too many penalties. Too many defensive lapses all around.

The loss sucks but folks I think we might have something with Gabe Vilardi. The points he scored tonight showcased legitimate offensive skills, attention to detail and persistence.

Loved the shift that resulted in his goal. The chemistry he showed with Byfield on that shift was impressive. Both big bodies with the ability to move the puck in tight spaces while being hounded by defenders.

Then the assist he had on Kaliyev’s PP goal was all instinct. Posted up in front of the net keeping the puck moving and finding a teammate’s stick in that mess of defenders was so great to see.

Everyone has pretty much summed up the highs and lows (oh, so many lows) of this game, but here's my 2 cents worth:

- the redesign of the Suite Levels looks really nice from the escalator. No more "1950's Italian-Restaurant-Owned-By-The-Mob vibe....it's all white & grey and high tech looking. (I'll try to remember to take a picture on Thursday)

-Arvidsson was not game-ready. That whole 2nd line was useless tonight.

-Vilardi - yay!! And Byfield - he learned to skate like a man over the summer - yay!!

-Hannah with the awesome National Anthem that got played on national TV!!

-Can NO ONE on this team make a pass?!?!

-Clearly Brandt Clarke is the key to this team's success & I can't wait to see him, hopefully, on Thursday - he must have been in the press box thinking, "what happened to the guys I played with all training camp? Geez, am I gonna have to save EVERYONE'S butt from all their defensive lapses all game when I finally play??"

-The pom poms were cool - one of the better giveaways in recent years. Surprised to see a lot of people left them on the floor.

-BRING YOUR OWN WATER to the Crypt and save soooo much money! Why have I never done this before?? Brought my own sealed up water bottle and saved $5.75. Now, if only the upstairs Wetzel's Pretzels would have been open.....
