This film was absolutely exhilarating. Michael Haneke masterfully creates an air of tension and uneasiness throughout the entirety of the film. Isabelle Huppert gives a superb performance as the sadomasochistic, conniving, and austere piano teacher. The movie is very bizarre, disturbing, explicit, and intense, probably not the best movie to watch if you're new to Haneke.

Really? Oh ****. Don't think I've seen Shutter. Good timing. Now shipping tomorrow.

But The Eye..... watched it twice in a week several years ago and a few images have stuck and replayed pretty regularly since. The mere mention of the movie I get steely cold prickly chills. Those scenes roll through and may even get a wave of watery eyes and wasabi nose. Loved it. VERY deft creepy film making.

GREAT movie. Wow. One of the more unique murder mysteries I've seen in a while and not at all what was expected. It was so many things. Very well done and funny, tense, mysterious and entertaining to be sure.

The calligraphy scene, in particular, stands out to me as one of the creepiest I've ever seen.

Too bad nothing else the Pang Brothers have done since has been much good. :(

AHHHHH Shutter is great dude. Loved the ending. Oh man, let me know when you watch it so I can gush without worrying about spoiling.

The calligraphy scene is way scary, I was watching it in between Adgy's fingers. (I have a tendency to put his hand up in front of my eyes when we watch scary movies.)

Mother is great. I was sad and torn over the end. But none the less, excellent movie.

plus, have you seen Samurai Champloo or Cowboy Bebop??? What about Last Exile? Do you like steampunk? There's still good stuff out there.

I did! Another movie that just made me say "What the f***??" It's not that I couldn't follow it or didn't know what was going on, just... what the f***??

Had the same feeling with "Spirited Away." Same with "Akira." Same with "Metropolis." Same with the other movies I've seen but don't remember what they are.

Y'know, I just don't think I'm down with the way those effers tell stories.

Another chilling masterpiece from Haneke. This film delves into the mind of a psychopathic high schooler. Some parts are really hard to watch, and even though a lot of the disturbing moments are implied/off camera it doesn't take away from their power. Like all the Haneke films I've seen, this movie isn't entertaining or uplifting, so don't watch it with your kids.

Awwww **** yeah! I heart Robot Carnival. I have it on my other laptop. Been meaning to show that to Adgy. If you're going to watch Appleseed I saw you watch the OG one and not that computer animated BS. I hate computer animated anime.

Haven't seen Megazone or Macross in a really really long time. I actually used to watch Gundam Wing. Seemed more political and than actiony.
 
I saw the computer animated Appleseed, Appleseed Ex Machina. It was ok.

It does kind of seem like cheating, though.
