Getting back on track...

When I went to go see this, I was expecting a historical drama with great acting. I didn't expect to be moved and riveted. The King's Speech is a great movie, a masterpiece in EVERY sense of the word. I can't remember the last time I was so enthralled by a film. Geoffrey Rush is absolutely superb and Colin Firth does a great job portraying the stammering King. The King's Speech embodies pretty much everything that I love about cinema.

Best movie of 2010.

It's consistent with what I have heard. If my boy Barbossa can't get the supporting actor statuette I hope John Hawkes steals it...SEE WINTER'S BONE...it's the best movie that won't win ****.

It was the best show ever.

Sorry Homicide fans...

Ummm no. Wow, how can I agree so much with you and you are just so FAR OFF on some things?:nhl_crach

As far as 1/2 hour comedies go, Get Smart kicks Arrested Developments smug/self important ass all over the place.

You must excuse his ignorance JD, I've yet to sit him down and do a Homicide marathon. He doesn't realize what he's missing.

It is, one of my all time favorite movies. I raved about it in this thread a while back. This film is an absolute masterpiece and if any of you haven't seen it, you should make it the next movie you watch!

i can't believe it took me a million years to finally see these two movies. yeah, i'm deprived.
I enjoyed both of them. Braveheart I enjoyed a lil more for the story AND the soundtrack. Saving Private Ryan for the insane action. Like I don't have enough war dreams already. Both great movies.

Wow...that's almost as bad as not seeing Exorcist yet.

Indeed...beautiful movie. Probably a dumb question, but which came first? This or steampunk?

I am from the school of thought that Steampunk was pretty much started with the works of Jules Verne, but that's on the literary level.

Steampunk in film? That is an interesting question to where it began.

It sure didn't start with this.
