Last Movie Watched

I'm too lazy to check if Adgy already posted this but we watched The King's Speech on Monday. Crap I LOVED that movie. I'm going to buy it when it comes out. Seriously. At first I thought it was going to be a heavy drama - which I'm trying to steer clear of this year (because when you watch movies with Adgy 85% of the time it's a drama that ends in pure bull****).

I was pleasantly surprised at the overall light tone of this movie. I loved the relationship between the King and Logue. Geoffrey Rush was amazing.

Colin Firth is outstanding. Always has been. He's gotten older but dude I would soooo bang that in a heart beat. I hope he wins the Oscar.

Colin Firth is awesome and still the best Mr. Darcy! :D

Loved this ****ing movie. Best movie of the year. Didn't expect for it to make me cry but it did, the friendship between Logue and the King was so touching.

Last night was a movie night full of gay sex and killin' since I watched Monster and Dahmer back to back. Monster I've seen a few times, however Dahmer I've never see. Jeremy Renner was way creepy in that movie and there were a few times I had to put my hands over my eyes when I was watching it.

These really aren't my types of movies normally but it's interesting to see the possible motives and origins of serial killers. I barely knew anything about Jeffrey Dahmer except that he supposedly ate the people he killed and ended up getting killed in prison. I didn't know he was gay or that he was drugging and raping men before he killed him. Interestingly enough, the movie never showed him eating people, so I wonder if that's just myth.

I have been telling one of my Korean peeps from class that he needs to watch this and that decided to tell him that I am letting him borrow my copy next week.

And as such, I decided to watch it again.

Still awesome!

Lovecraft would be proud.

MASSIVE DISAPPOINTMENT. Might have worked as a short film.

Enjoyable, but not as much as I'd hoped/expected. Some funny violent bits, but the stuff in between was a bit slow.

Pretty good. John Ireland did a great job. Nowhere near as good as "The Assassination Of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford", but worth a watch.

wow...Grizzly. I actually have the novelization of that somewhere in a box. Yes folks, during the late '70's early '80's they used to 'novelize' popular movies. Hell, don't even get me started about the picture books.

Hey Adge, didn't grizzly combine stock footage of bears with a bad guy-in-suit????

I remember that. I used to buy them.

It did indeed.

Some of the worst movies I've seen in a long time. Assault girls should have been a 30 short manga or something.

Adgy has been on this whole "let's record movies on the dvr that are really fricken old," so when we decided to watch Grizzly I was like "oh I hope this is good instead of some corny ass movie with close ups of people screaming and a really pathetic looking fake bear arm making swipes at the camera."

That's EXACTLY what I got.

I want 3 hours of my life back!!

Watched A Single Man last night, and it was depressing and sad as ****. It's one thing to show a dude dead from a car accident, but did they also have to show a dog dying too???? Colin Firth was great in this movie, as he is in everything (yes, including Nanny McFee), but I thought the movie was a tad too slow. In the end I kinda fast forwarded through some stuff to the end. Yeah I couldn't take it anymore.

And I must say being someone who has had raging lust for Colin Firth since high school I felt a little confused seeing him kiss a dude - Matthew Goode even. I don't know who was luckier, Matthew Goode or Colin Firth. I'm leaning toward Matthew Goode.

So if you want to watch a slow, beautiful and depressing and sad as **** movie, this is it. Which means Adgy will probably want to watch this movie...

This movie gets the Orphy seal of approval.

But I like depressing stuff! ;)

That's being a little too generous. Oh yeah, he wastes his time on ****ty movies because he doesn't listen to me.

lol

He does have exquisite taste though, can't enumerate how many movies I've liked based on his suggestions in this forum. And anyone who appreciates guys like Yamada, Haneke, and Kar Wai Wong is a gentleman and a scholar in my book.
