Every bit the horrible movie you've heard. Just painful on a technical level, and with horrible dialog, acting and effects. It was pretty damn funny, but nowhere even close to "the best worst movie" like the quote from CBS says. Anybody who thinks that needs to watch some more awesomely horrible movies.

But, yeah, definitely worth a rental. Listened to the commentary by the director on one of the deleted scenes and it seems like the feature commentary might actually make this one worth buying. It was really that bad/awesome.

It makes me sad that a part of my life was wasted over this movie.
 
I never understood the whole thing about being entertained by watching really horrible movies, my friends in college used to try to get me to watch ****ty movies as well as some episodes of MST3K but I would always get really bored.
 
Hurm...once again, acquired taste. When you are a fan of horror/strange flicks as I am you have to wade through a lot of crap. There are bad movies...anyone can make one of those, but then there are movies so bad that they transcend. It's a perverse form of art. As far as MST3K those are just fun because of the witty/cruel rapidfire jokes that the crew tosses. C'mon man...that's some funny crap.
 
I watched League of Extraordinary Gentlemen last night on DVD. I've "watched" a good 200+ times as a movie to go to sleep to. I really like Sean Connery's portrayal of Allan Quatermain as the somewhat sarcastic leader who doesn't put up with any bull****. I also like the fact that Connery knows how to throw/fake a punch. The Hyde character is also pretty interesting. He seems have a bit more character depth than, Jekyl, Nemo, Sawyer, Skinner or Harken. Stuart Townsend as Dorian Gray seems neither here nore there. Just kinda blah...

I know the movie is pure cheeze, but it's entertaining none the less.

The director for Birdemic was on the Carolla podcast, and the dude was SUPER into the movie. Carolla was trying to be nice and get out of the guy that the movie was a SyFy flaming bag of cat ****, but the dude wasn't biting. He thought he had the next Saving Private Ryan, Sling Blade or One Crazy Summer. This made for a very interesting interview. The guy was a nut, plain and simple.

That's supposed to be the draw of the commentary track. The guy is in such a state of denial/and superproud of his movie...God bless him.

I didn't say it was my favorite movie did I?

The Litzer and I make it a point to watch horribly cheezy movies on SyFy as much as possible. The bigger the flaming pile of feline excrement the better. My favorites are the ones about earthquakes and stuff. Movies where I know a bit about what would really happen, and the super campy crap that the director/writer/producer wants to show is nowhere near realistic. It just makes me laugh. There was one where Brittany Murphy (RIP) was out running a ****ing earthquake in a Jeep while throwing sticks of dynamite in a valley to stop this massive seismic event. Low and behold, IT WORKED! Apparently there is a HUMONGOUS fault line that runs directly down the center of the United States in the Midwest that I didn't know about.
How could you not like that?
 
Hey, I'm ALL for the cheesy, ****ty movies.

I'm just a big fan of the LXG source material, so that movie kind of grinds my gears a bit.

I was perusing imdb and saw that they were making a sequel. Bet that reaffirms his belief that he's the next Hitchcock.
 
I had my face in my hands for pretty much this entire video, I can't imagine sitting through a whole movie filled with **** like this

THAT was nothing short of spectacular! HOLY ****! Was that bad. When I listened to the Carolla podcast I thought it was a SyFy kinda POS, but that thing brings it to a new level. ****ing wire hangers to beat away (poorly animated) cgi crows and other poultry is just amazing.
