Last Movie Watched

Ha! That's pretty good...and true. I love that flick, but the scene with that crappy Aerosmith song and Ben Affleck walking animal crackers across Liv Tyler's stomach...NEEDS TO GO!!!!!!

And it's funny...Avatar came out on dvd last week, minus all the bells and whistles...yet nobody is watching it. Cannot wait to hear opinions based solely on the actual flick. Sorry Unfiltered, but it still chafes my ass.

Avatar sucked ;)

This is my first time watching it (yeah, yeah, I know). Definitely as good as people been saying. It was better than Hot Fuzz, which I saw at the theater when it came out, which was also good.

Just finished watching Uwe Boll's Far Cry.

I expected pure crap and was not disappointed! Very lame in many parts but for those familiar with Boll's other flicks, this one isn't too bad compared to, say, Postal.

Not recommended.

movies that would not get made today

THEWALL.jpg

Amazing, this movie has aged so well. The complete absence of dialogue coupled with the awkward pauses between songs. The animation, Geldof's performance...this is a tremendous musical, simply because it is sooooooo dark and depressing.

Malcolm McDowell could eat babies and I will forgive him, simply because this is one of the greatest performances ever. I have watched this flick, and read the book, umpteen times...and they both just continue to be socially relevant to this day. What a tremendous finger to the eye of society, what 30+ years later???? If you have not seen this you have not seen one of the most brave movies ever made, is that right grammatically? Who cares, this is a must see.

This is, officially, my second favorite film of all time.

Hey Adge, these were supposed to come out with the standard release...but they apparently, according to Amazon and Best Buy are on schedule for June...w.t.f. Do you have early copies? If so, what exactly is the street date for the Blu box set?

My school screened that movie this year. I am never going to get tired of watching it.

Not sure why Best Buy would say it wasn't out until June. It was supposed to be exclusive to Best Buy until June. I bought my box set at Best Buy a month or so ago (Tartan sent me the standard DVD set). June 15th is the "everywhere else" date.

BestBuy.com says it's available when I look at it...

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!

Yeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssss!

Like I said, I saw Hot Fuzz at the theater when it came out and loved it, but Shaun just had so many brilliant moments.

The scene in which they think that they can kill zombies by throwing records at them? And then they take out their record case and start flipping through their record collection in order to decide which records are worth throwing at the zombies and which they should keep is BEYOND brilliant!

Let's throw "The Second Coming" chunky boy says...

Simon Pegg's character is like...no...I actually like that album...

They were talking about The Stone Roses Second Album, "The Second Coming," which most people disliked when it came out, but some people, like myself, and Simon Pegg's character actually liked, and well, whenever that cultural moment gets mentioned in a film, everyone wins, it was the '90's, you had to be there. Brilliant!

I remember The Stone Roses...I feel old...

And on top of that I LOVE Romero.

My parents went to see Day of the Dead and they were too cheap to get a babysitter so they dragged me to the theater when I was just a booger picking kid. They shouldn't had, but it changed my life and made me a zombie film fan. Lol!

So....

Shaun of the Dead >Hot Fuzz

;)

Further proof that everyone in the '70's was on drugs.

It's a good thing that I watched this while on the grip of Lady Whiskey 'cause this needs to be watched under the influence. ;)

Awesome! :D

You. Fuzz ###>### Shaun, but only by a small amount.

Seriously, Shaun has a Stone Roses reference and that is enough for me.

People here don't live and breathe teh Roses like I do. *sigh*

But anyways, I am not a druggie, mind you, just an alkieholic, and well, you don't call us alkies druggies, we are of a different breed. :nono:

It's like calling an Aussie a Kiwi...you just don't do that!

Ever!
