Not a film for everybody, and not your typical Takeshi Kitano film, but it's one of the most beautiful films I've seen.

I liked V For Vendetta too, it's the whole Natalie Portman in a school dress thing, lol!

Then again, I actually liked The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, lol! :P Actually, I don't think that said film is good, it's just a guilty pleasure, which is partly derived from the fact that the film included Dorian Gray, who did not appear in the comic, but should had.

Agree TLOEG was fun for what it was. Feel bad for the director...had to put up with Connery promising to 'kick his ass'(cranky old bastard) and Alan Moore doing his usual pissallovereverything deal.

Damn, man. Find a smaller version of the pic, please. :)

It was exactly what I expected. But, man, that Larry Bishop has only one speed when he's in front of the camera: suck. Great cast, though.

Wow. Talk about late to the party. This is an awesome show, and I am only 6 episodes in. Never liked Dominic West before, but damned if this isn't the part he was born to play. Idris Elba and a TON of great character actors. Jayzus, this is must see tv. No wonder everyone waxes nostalgiac about this show. I am pretty sure I will be waxing by the time I finish this. Good stuff.

Not to quote my own post, well. ok I did...but this...

HERE'S YOUR CHANCE TO SHOOT OMAR FROM THE WIRE

made me do it. On Season 3, and damn...I missed the boat big time on this show. Great characters/writing/actors...just some damned good television. Funny, while the Sopranos was getting all the pub and all the awards etc...this show snuck by. If you are a fan of Homicide or shows of that ilk...you need to check out the box set of this bad boy.:flame::chesh:

You know, the new Hulk sucked, at least Ang Lee's version tried to do something different, but this version sucked too much. *sigh*

HULK is my favorite Marvel character and I am waiting for a good film version of his character. *sigh*

Anyhow, these are my recent film viewings...

"The House of the Devil."... um yeah, it started slow, but the end, um yeah, BRUTAL! LOVED IT!

And I watched "Religulous," which I thought was interesting.

And "Mozart and the Whale," which was just good Autistic fun, so there!

And I re-watched "Jason and the Argonauts." SO BEYOND BRILLIANT AWESOME! Ray Harryhausen is awesome! :D I LOVE HIM! :D

Orph this was such a staple of my childhood...the damned hydra teeth skeletons...no better scene in motion picture history as far as I am concerned! Harryhausen simply is the best!

It's great how in sync his special effects are! I just watched Mighty Joe Young with his commentary. *LOVE* the man!

I couldn't remember if I posted this, but The Fantastical Worlds of Ray Harryhausen has been running at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences since May and runs through August 22.

The Fantastical Worlds of Ray Harryhausen Land at the Academy | Press Release | The Academy

Press Release said:
With unprecedented access to the Harryhausen collection, the exhibition will feature original models, drawings, storyboards and behind-the-scenes photographs demonstrating the animation and visual effects processes that Harryhausen used to create many iconic films, including “It Came from Beneath the Sea” (1955), “Earth vs. the Flying Saucers” (1956), “The 7th Voyage of Sinbad” (1958), “Jason and the Argonauts” (1963), “The 3 Worlds of Gulliver” (1960), “One Million Years B.C.” (1966) and “Clash of the Titans” (1981).

Also, Chuck Jones: An Animator’s Life From A to Z-Z-Z-Z is running until the same date. :)

What makes these even more of "must-attends" is they're both FREE.
