Last Movie Watched

Unable to sleep, I found myself watching Hollywood Homicide last night.

I know it's been a few years, but good lord, can we all band together and kill Harrison Ford so we can martyrize his memory?

It's tough. Memories Of Murder isn't necessarily my favorite, but I just think it's so well done...

With the caveat that I haven't seen any earlier Korean films and there are still a lot of great ones I'm sure I still haven't seen, if I had to do a top 5...

1. Memories Of Murder
2. Oldboy
3. Time (by Kim Ki-Duk)
4. Lady Vengeance
5. Failan

Honorable mention to JSA, My Sassy Girl, Sympathy For Mr Vengeance and A Tale Of Two Sisters.

That's off the top of my head.

You'll dig that ****, Orph.

Was wondering where you'd seed Oldboy and Lady Vengeance. But thinking back I agree. Both excellent (and Oldboy... ****ing iconic), but M.O.M. just has so much going for it. Really, REALLY enjoyed The Host too. That was thanks to you also. You pimped that s*** for MONTHS. Gonna borrow these others for my queue. Daedanhi kamsahamnida!

HOLY S****...... Zombieland KILLED!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ashamed now that I missed the 10-page thread last year. DAMN that was good. May need to revisit Shaun cuz I remember loving it, but at this moment I'm giving the edge to the above.

Pretty effective creepy old movie.

Carnival of Souls is all sorts of awesome! :good:

Not the best movie to have in the background when you are falling in and out of sleep. I kept on hearing the creepiest music and canned screams. And every time I opened my eyes, I'd see close ups of the same person on the screen.

Close up, scream, close up, scream, close up, creepy music....lather, rinse, repeat.

Hmmmmm. MOM is good, haunting and sad. I don't think I have an opinion on the best Korean movie ever just yet. I love the movies with my boy Kang-ho Song in it (except for Thirst, that was bull****). Personally I think Lady V is way better than Oldboy. Probably won't watch Sympathy for Mr V because I saw a part of it and almost vomited over one scene. A Tale of Two Sisters is a great scary movie.....

My Sassy Girl Adgy? REALLY?????? You sissy! That movie was great until she stopped slapping the guy around and got all mushy. Then it was just boring. Remember? I lost interest in the movie after she stopped being violent.

Watched Outlander like 30 mins ago. I must have been looking the other way when this movie came out because I had never heard of it. It was entertaining, not really THAT great. Unless you like the idea of watching Jesus (the dude who played him at least) fight the monster from The Host with a bunch of vikings that look like they came from the 13th Warrior. :D It's also got some fun blood sprays, spatter, and fountains though.

I've got a thing for vikings, so that's why I ended up sitting through the movie.

I remember. The movie is a lot of fun, though, even though it's not really THAT great a movie. But I put it on the honorable mention list mostly because it was such a huge success in Korea and had a gigantic impact on Korean comedies.

I don't think it was in theaters.

Well, hopefully someone buys me Centurion on Blu-Ray for X-Mas, so we can watch that, then. :) PS: don't buy it for me because i think my uncle is going to buy it.

Funny, 'cause a few years ago I was really into said film and would fall asleep to it. But then again, I am nuts. :D

And I also like My Sassy Girl.

Then again, I read Jane Austen, so my sissiness has been well documented. mhihi:

Jane Austen is not sissiness. She rocks. Making a chick all awesome in the beginning and then making her all turn emo and soft is sissiness.

I don't know, but Lizzie, at least in my opinion, should had kicked Mr. Darby in the nuts and told him to bug off! mhihi:

I think I just got an idea for a fan fiction piece. ;)

Solid list, I think Chaser, Mother, Brotherhood of War, and A Moment to Remember are right up there as well

There are some men that are just too damn sexy to kick in the nuts. No matter what. Plus, she liked him deep down, and do you know how sad she would have been if she permanently damaged his junk?

Excellent. Thoroughly ****ed up account of some Irish prisoners at the hands of the British during the 80s. Man, Michael Fassbender is awesome. There are a couple of single take scenes in this that were impressive as hell.
