I haven't seen this since I was a kid and it creeped me out back then! :O I still think that it holds up today and it's definitely as depressing as ever.

Cute movie that reminded me of Bewitched. And it was fun watching the couple from Vertigo in a less depressing setting.

Pet Semetary is still awesome, especially the kid getting 'big trucked' to the sound of the Ramones. You especially should check out Wake Wood, it's PS with more of an old school British horror twist. You'll dig it.

Light, breezy improbable fun. Really captures that summer 'legal' book feel. I mean, you can almost predict all of the turns in this one with your eyes closed, but due to good performances it works. Perfect popcorn flick.

File this under 'what-might-have-been'. A nice dirty twist on the standard kidnap story, but an idea is not enough. You have to develop the idea. And, while I do not need the entire story spoonfed to me, you have to do more than imply a relationship between characters if its one of the main motivations driving the story. Decent performances(especially Eddie Marsan who you should recognize) cannot save this one. Nudity alert:Celebrity Skin watch...for those of you interested Gemma Arterton is quite nude in parts of this. Just sayin.

Wow. What did I just watch? What started as a low rent Sons-of-Anarchy meets the Evil Dead groove circled off the beaten path to go all Stephen King's 'Sometimes They Come Back' and finally...well, no. Ain't gonna spoil it. While this is by no means a good movie it sure as **** ain't like anything I have ever seen before. If you have an adventurous heart...hit the bong and stick it through with this one. Just ****ing odd.

Still awesome.

Spanish horror Eskalofrio (Shiver). Decent movie about a boy with photo sensitivity who moves to a forest town and is quickly suspected of committing some murders that occur after his arrival.

For some reason I was expecting it to be a much tougher watch than it actually was. Maybe that's why it took me so long to watch it. It was good though!

I have never seen a COMPLETLY incoherent movie...err, scratch that.

parasomnia-blu-ray-large.jpg

From William Malone, director of House on Haunted Hill
?Parasomnia begins where your nightmare ends.? ?Wes Craven. Laura Baxter (Cherilyn Wilson) suffers from ?parasomnia,? a bizarre medical condition that keeps her trapped in an almost constant dream state. Art student Danny Sloan (Dylan Purcell) falls in love with the sleeping beauty, unaware that terrifying mesmerist and mass murderer Byron Volpe (Patrick Kilpatrick) has sinister plans to claim her as his own. Also starring Jeffrey Combs, Timothy Bottoms, Dov Tiefenbach and Sean Young.

I include the Amazon synopsis simply because I couldn't begin to tell you what this was about. Shame on you Jeffrey Combs. I know...you gotta eat, but really???

ok...really smart take on the first movie

SPOILERS>>>>

Apparently, the virus is due to the blood of a possessed girl. her blood is the 'ground zero' of evil. But they take the single cam view of the first and go all 'ALIENS' with individual helmet cams of the doomed military guys who are tricked into a bad situation. A LOT of shaky pov ensues and it is just too much. Could not even stick it through to the end.

Saw two comedies at the theater this weekend...Horrible Bosses and 30 Minutes or Less

Horrible Bosses was....pretty horrible.
Jason Bateman is on cruise control and just going through the motions.
Charlie Day...annoying as ****. Bull**** he wouldn't be all over Jennifer Aniston's character, fiance or no. That was just terrible casting putting Aniston in that spot, although I did enjoy her...performance.
Sudekis...whatever.
The characters were just too stupid to live and the movie was just too...ridiculously silly and madcap, I guess is how to put it, for it to be anywhere near enjoyable.

I found 30 Minutes or Less much more enjoyable.
A lot of funny lines and, while there was also some stupidity among the characters, they were expected to be stupid.
At least no one was turning down easy sex from Jennifer Aniston.

Not horribly bad, just disappointing. Small scope with a few ok moments but it cribs the 'twist' of it's story from a much better movie(you will know what movie if you watch this). JC is capable of much better. It almost seemed like this was his way of shaking the rust off and I hope he has another movie or 2 left in him.

This was a LOT of fun, until about the 1 hr 10 min mark, where the story and the joke just started to go on a little too long. Overall, I still really loved it, but you have to know not to overstay your welcome.

Hmmm. This was an odd little bastard of a movie. Statham plays a variation of his usual self, but not so 'superhero'. Actually, this movie is kinda old school Dirty Harry-ish in it's exploration of what constitutes 'too far'. It's not that smart though, so relax. Sadly, Paddy Considine is sort of an afterthought in this flick. Has a few moments, but he is under-utilized. The real revelation is Aidan Gillen(Lord Renly from Game of Thrones) who channels his inner Gary Oldman to the nth degree. Warning: this movie has a really weird feel to it. Not just the English setting that makes it feel foreign. Yes Adgy...you should see this.:19smile:

Man...I hesitated sooooo long on this one thinking it was going to live up to it's title. And after the first 10 or so, I was sure it was gonna...weird looking folks supposedly in a band, original music(more on that later)...and just a general sense of cheese. But I stuck with it and it paid off in spades. I have seen a lot of low budge flicks that were music centered and could not afford licensing...so they substitute crappy generic soundalike music and it just is soooo wet noodle. This flick is about a rock band that become vamps and the original songs don't detract, as a matter of fact they were kinda catchy. Nice extended cameos by Iggy, Alice, Alex Lifeson, Dave Foley, Henry Rollins(hillarious) and Malcolm McDowell(as vamp hunter Eddie Van Helsig). Nice little flourishes, like some cool sorta stop motion animation and a flashback that clearly incorporates old footage of McDowell make this pretty special. It's a cheesefest no doubt, but it's really well done and thought out cheese. Definitely does not SUCK

Oh, and if you ever wondered what Carrot Top would look like as a Vamp...

What a wonderfully sweet lovable flick. I wanna hug Bill Nighy and his ascot wearing character in this flick. Nick Frost is brilliant, Rhys Ifans...well, he's Rhys Ifans...hell, even Phillip Seymour Hoffman was brilliant. LOVE this movie.

This is ugly. A guy who wants to believe his beloved daughter(shown in heart wrenching flashbacks) couldn't do the horrible things that led to her death...Lots of genital torture, the guy wants his revenge and he seems to know how to get to the heart of the matter a.s.a.p., sadly, regardless of vengeance...the innocent suffer most. Tough movie.

Saw Fright Night on Friday night. Fun flick. Liked it a lot. Thought Colin Farrell was really good as Jerry, and David Tennant's character was a lot of fun.

I'd say it's one of the better X-Men movies for sure. Some of the mutations were a bit goofy though (a pixie, really?), but that's to be expected I guess.
