Hundreds Of Beavers on prime…

Super fun movie. Like a strange combo of looney tunes, Harold Lloyd & a video game.

I may need to pick your brain about posting images, real talk. ooof.

Try right clicking on the image. And then choose Copy Picture. And then go to the thread you want to post in. Right click again and the choose Paste.

That's how I do and I post a lot of pics.

*sigh* I am hesitant to write about this movie because it’s not my typical fair, a happy-go-lucky good vibes/eye candy or “what party” got stoned and re-imaged a TBS dad flick. So, you’ve been warned, feeling words may be typed in earnest. =) This movie is about a delusional man (Plemens) trying to save humanity by kidnapping the CEO (Stone)of the company he works for because he thinks she’s an alien. And he brings his only friend (either special needs or dim but with a big heart) cousin along for the ride. Tilt your head sideways and with the right soundtrack, it’s a dark comedy. This is not-- that.

A small town guy, suffers all the earmarks for a psychotic break *trigger warning* with the backdrop of the current economy and the echo chamber of an internet interest reinforcing your belief with unchecked results. The movie is a little slow because of the density of the dialog but not a talking head snore fest because of the outstanding performances of Stone and Plemens. More of a rollercoaster slowly clicking as you ascend upwards.

Not a big fan of the unreliable narrator genre because they usually make me too sad before you’re supposed to but it does give the director room to take liberties (too keep the audience second guessing themselves). Went in thinking it was a psychological thriller/class war piece that would devolve into borderline sadistic horror -ick-(for lack of a better term) but it also was not that either. Or even delusional self-righteousness versus a psychotic narcissist trying to buy their salvation, ugh, it was weird. But good-weird, just not happy-go-lucky weird. Not even sure that I liked it and when the movie was over, in the bathroom washing my hands I turned to the woman next to me and asked if that movie effed her up, because I am not okay. She turned her head, paused and said, yeah.

Needed a full day to recover but now, I kind of think it’s worth the hype. The Oscars may give it the stink-eye or it could win the whole effing thing. ((Person shrugging emoji )) My instinct is to make a bunch of jokes right now to ease the uneasiness I feel, so if you did see it as well, type back and I’ll pitch you an (joke) idea I had to make it better.

Where is The Frozen Dead?

Man I still laugh every time I watch that movie
Honestly, it might still be in my "top five desert island movie" picks. The fact that someone is having the best day of his life and the worst day of his life on the same day, is what gets me. And the fact that it is happening to Cary Grant, all the better.

The Boris Karloff joke still kills every time, agreed.

*aside: afraid of all things horror, so just throwing a "dark" comedy into the mix.
