Rush Hour 3 wasn't as bad as I was hoping it to be... Being a Jackie Chan fan...I don't think he has that much more in the tank...and felt that he was running on fumes with this one...

I'm a HUGE fan of Jackie, and I will actually admit to enjoying the first two movies in the series, but this one was just ****ing lame. Unfunny, lame action sequences and... just... bad. The ONLY thing I liked about it AT ALL was Hiroyuki Sanada's performance as the bad guy. That dude is just badass and awesome.
The rest of it sucked ass.
Maybe because CBGB wasn't involved?
I saw this last night:

and it was ****ING AWESOME.

This year's Academy Award winner for best foreign film, deservedly so. Great political thriller about a surveillance expert for the East German Stasi who begins to grow a conscience in the waning days of Cold War.
One of the best foreign films I've ever seen. In terms of German films, only "Das Boot" compares.
This was a great film. I don't know if I would put it in my top 3 for German Films- those would got to "Das Boot," "Metropolis" and "Downfall." "Run Lola Run" and "The Lives of Others" are tied for 4th. After that, maybe "Das Experiment."
Yes, I've actually thought about this.
no love for Wim Wenders or Fassbinder?
Oh, there is love there. Both are wonderful directors and writers, but I can't count any of their films in my top 5. I have to think about it some more and re-view some older German films, and come up with a top 10 list.

as far as Fassbinder is concerned, i honestly think that Berlin Alexanderplatz is probably the only thing that can give Dekalog a run for its money... and well, that's Kieslowski, who i think very few can touch.
i didn't have the chub for Run Lola Run that most had. which is quite odd considering it's so techno.
personally i'd have to rate Wings Of Desire ahead of at least that one... i also feel that Until The End Of The World was one of the 5 greatest Science Fiction films ever made.

I'll be honest. "Wings of Desire" was just ok for me (I'm dead inside, what can I say?)

Lawrence of Arabia.
I finally took 3 hours 47 minutes out of my life to watch this legendary film. I must say it lived up to all the hype and then some. I'd say it is the greatest achievement in "epic" filmmaking that I've ever witnessed.
Aaahhhh Solveig Dommartin.... may she rest in peace. DAMN she was too sexy in WOD. BTW gescom, do you happen to own either the Italian or German 280 min. release of Until The End Of The World? If so, we need to talk....
Stardust.
Fun flick. Kind of an adulter Princess Bride.
