Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler has confirmed that since his lymphoma diagnosis, legendary guitarist Tony Iommi has already written two new songs for Balck Sabbath's forthcoming reunion album.
Butler has posted a new blog confirming that the news that Iommi has been diagnosed with cancer has not derailed his spirit or his creative streak.
“Today [January 19th] we got the engines back up and running at Tony’s home studio,” he writes. “Far from being down and depressed about his lymphoma diagnosis, Tony had already written the music for two new songs, and I must say it has given us all a kick up the rump — it’s great to hear him churning out those riffs again, assuaging the Demon C. Takes more than that to stop Tony. Can’t wait for you all to hear our workings; it has been great working on this stuff."
He adds, “I want to thank the lovely encouraging emails sent to this site giving Tony love and encouragement and great vibes. It really does help, not only Tony, but us as a band — it raises up our spirits and restores our faith in this tarnished world.
Sabb fans are good people. Time and again, you have proven your faith in us and boosted our endeavor.
Thanks, love, peace.”

In addition UFO drummer Andy Parker will be joining Eddie Trunk this coming Monday January 23rd on his Sirius/XM Satellite Radio Show Eddie Trunk Live which airs from 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM on The Boneyard (Sirus:38/XM:38). Andy will talk with Eddie about the new album, play a new song from the album and talk about future tour plans in support of Seven Deadly.
Seven Deadly is an atmospherically dense fabric consisting of classy guitars, tight rock grooves and vocals which are unique to UFO. So it's no wonder that sound engineer Tommy Newton, in whose Area 51 studio in Celle, Germany, the new tracks were recorded, commented: "I've never heard a better Phil Mogg!"
The UFO frontman's thoroughly impressive vocal performance goes hand in hand with the awesome compositions on Seven Deadly. The classic rock of Burn Your House Down features all the important UFO strengths, Mojotown sees the musicians sound tougher than ever, and last but not least Year Of The Gun features a pointed reference to UFO's early days.
Four years after abdicating the throne of world’s most popular industrial band, Ministry step back into the limelight with Relapse. A serious health scare in 2010, coupled with recent political unrest, inspired Ministry mastermind Al Jourgensen to return to the angry, machine-like, metal tinged fray. As with any big band return, Relapse is being heralded as the greatest achievement in Ministry’s extensive catalog. Is it? Is the record even any good? Do Jourgensen’s political rants seem genuine or lazy? So many questions. Let me try and answer a few.
The first thing to settle is that Relapse is a great record. Loud, fast, angry and relentless. All the elements of Ministry are here and in top form. I’m not sure if I’d stick it in the same class as Land Of Rape And Honey or Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste, but Relapse could stand toe to toe with the rest of Ministry’s catalog. Jourgensen isn’t alone with this assault; he’s packing some serious back up. Mike Scaccia and Casey Orr of Rigor Mortis, metal icon Tommy Victor of Prong and Tony Campos of Static X all lend their particular brand of excellence to the Ministry madness.
After initial success in the late 70's and early 80's with albums such as Rock City, Narita, Fire Down Under and Restless Breed, Riot rose from the ashes after a few years of silence to release Thundersteel in 1988, an album that would become as celebrated as the new line-up that spawned it: Mark Reale (guitars), Tony Moore (vocals), Don Van Stavern (bass), Bobby Jarzombek (drums), and Mike Flyntz (guitars, who joined the group during Riots's first triumphant Thundersteel tour of Japan).
Their follow-up release, 1990's The Priviledge Of Power, flexed Riot's creativity and metal muscles even further, cementing renewed fan interest around the world, particularly in Europe and Japan. In the ensuing years, the Thundersteel line-up became near-legendary in the metal canon. They were hailed as "the bridge between Priest and speed metal" and have been heralded as an influence by many, including Hammerfall who covered Flight Of The Warrior on their album Masterpieces.
After releasing several albums, the Thundersteel line-up of Reale, Moore, Van Stavern, Jarzombek, and Flyntz joined forces once again, for the first in some 20 years, with the 2011 album Immortal Soul.
CFO Anthony Balasco states, "I never understood why 8 inch KISS action figures were not produced back in the 1970's when The Mego Toy Company had already released the 12 inch versions. Our first release will have the retro look from the 1970's, but future releases will cover all time periods in KISS's almost 40 year musical career from 1973 to 2012". Look for special exclusives and limited edition releases. Collectors will be able to find these at toy stores, comic shops, music stores and on-line retailers starting in March 2012."
Each 8" KISS action Figure comes with a mini replica Love Gun album cover, and each individual 12" Figure comes with 1 of 4 retro mini KISS concert T-shirts.
The Love Gun Action figures will be followed by Sonic Boom, Dressed To Kill and the first KISS album Figure Series.
