Gene Simmons: 'Original Kiss will not reunite for Hall of Fame' | News | Classic Rock

But Simmons also stresses his belief that both former members are happier since parting ways with Kiss. He adds: “I believe that both Ace and Peter are happier now. They are healthier, they look fine. When they were in the band they were both on junk, or crack or alcohol. Clearly not a healthy place for them. They belong doing autograph shows in clubs – they’re happier.”
F'n Knob. Yeah, don't think about what the fans want and certainly pay no attention the doing the right thing...Gene $immons is a wig wearing hump and he and Paul $tanley have tarnished the legacy by turning Ki$$ into a brand name. I wish them both well...Oh wait...exactly the opposite.

Lol!

I love Kiss's music, but Gene Simmons is an ahole to the highest degree.

He almost makes me feel embarrassed of being Half Jewish.

It's particularly disgusting that he compared Ace and Peter to a 'cancer' when Peter went through a bout with cancer not too long ago. He is just classless and if its any consolation he makes me feel embarrassed to be human.

Gene is a business man who can play a couple of strings on the bass. He doesn't care about the band or the music. He cares about how much he can make off of the name. He took the band and made them a brand. It's disgusting what they have turned this into. At least they haven't gone as far as partnering with a brand like Hello Kitty.

Oh wait...KISS x Hello Kitty On Sanrio.com

At what point was Kiss not a brand? Every docu I've seen regarding their early years has pretty much stated "branding" was the goal from the beginning.

Going to a few shows in vegas this weekend \m/
Friday: Gojira, Slayer
Saturday: Ghost, Deftones, A7X

what a weekend! maybe my top 5 bands anyway right now

And that Eric Carr died of cancer... of course the way Gene handled that is well documented (firing Eric on his death bed and not allowing the bands insurance to cover medical bills).

10/24: EPIC PARTY LAST NIGHT, ACE & PETER, KISS, IN BOSTON FRIDAY FOR AAF EVENT W/HAGAR!

Of course the biggest news from the night was that Ace Frehley and Peter Criss came to the event. I knew both were coming but I had no idea both would play, together no less! There has been some friction between the two over recent years (read Peter’s book), but I found out today that the two said they wanted to jam and reconnect out of respect to me and our friendship and the spirit of the night. So for the first time in 13 years Ace and Peter reconnected, laughed, and jammed! It was EPIC and the electricity in the room when they came out was incredible. To see Peter looking great and behind the kit, singing and playing great, was so awesome to see as a fan and friend. Same with Ace. Just electric when he plugged in! Ace did Parasite with an all star band, Peter did Hooligan. Love Her All I Can and R&R All Night was played by Ace & Peter. Every member of all the bands there was watching and smiling ear to ear, none more than Frank Bello, Billy Sheehan, Scott Ian and Mike Portnoy, who backed them on some songs and are huge fans. I was in the crowd watching everything but while waiting to play Ace & Peter sat backstage together telling stories and catching up I’m told. I spoke to Peter today who said he had a blast and was thrilled to reconnect with Ace. Said last night, and his recent appearance at a Rob Zombie show, actually has inspired him to finish a hard rock album he has been working on. He said playing again for an audience and singing as well as he did has given him confidence he can still do it. Ace is in the middle of recording a new album now. Coincidentally this reunion came days after Gene Simmons said in an interview if Kiss does get into the R&R Hall they would not play with Ace and Peter. The current Kiss continues to disparage these guys I guess to justify what they are currently selling. It is sad and pre mature to say the least, and I know for a fact Gene making those statements greatly hurts Kiss’ chances of actually getting in. Even the most hardcore Kiss fans were offended that Gene could make a statement like that before they even know if they might go in. For a band that always says the fans are the bosses, this is beyond comprehension. But it’s all putting the cart before the horse at this point since Kiss is only NOMINATED, not in (as dumb as that is!). So let’s see what happens, but one thing is certain, if Kiss goes in it will be with the original band, and nothing would be more of a joke to see the current Kiss perform, with Tommy & Eric dressed as Ace & Peter, when the original band is what’s being inducted. Last night proved Ace and Peter are NOT “drunk losers”, at least not anymore. It also proved that they can still play and perform and are very much the spirit and sound of Kiss every bit as much as Gene and Paul. For the record Ace is sober 7 years, Peter longer. Were they **** ups before? Sure, they will be the first to tell you that. And I’m not saying for a minute they should do a reunion with the band. But how about some credit for the people they are TODAY. Last night that was on full display and it was magic! I am proud to call them both friends and so happy for them for the healthy sober happy people they are now. The real Catman and Space Ace were rocking last night in NYC at my party and it was a supreme honor that they made it all work for my celebration and audience.

Suck it Gene.

Quick Vegas recap
Slayer, ghost and a7x were phen-****ing-omenal I can't even put words to how great they were
The deftones? They have great energy but Jesus they just aren't my thing. I like them on record but there set dragged ass

Kings of Chaos Featuring Slash, Corey Taylor + More To Play Benefit Concert

Kings of Chaos are an all-star touring project that features Corey Taylor (Slipknot/Stone Sour), Glenn Hughes (Black Country Communion) and Steve Stevens along with Velvet Revolver/ex-Guns N’ Roses members Slash, Matt Sorum and Duff McKagan. Their only North American show of 2013 will be Nov. 18 in Los Angeles at Avalon Hollywood for a benefit gig called ‘Tokyo Celebrates the Dolphin.’

In addition to the band members above, the show will include special guests including Juliette Lewis, Les Stroud (from TV’s ‘Survivorman’) and actor Gary Dourdan. Kings of Chaos will play a two hour set of hits from its various members. Tickets for the show are available here.

Proceeds from ‘Tokyo Celebrates The Dolphin’ will go to Ric O’Barry’s Dolphin Project, an international organization dedicated to saving dolphins from slaughter and exploitation. “This is a rehearsal for the BIG one,” says O’Barry. “We plan on taking ‘Tokyo Celebrates the Dolphin’ to Japan. We’ll add a few Japanese friends to our lineup and rock the socks off Tokyo.”

“There isn’t a better way to bring Westerners and Japanese people together than rock and roll and the world should also know about the wonderful relationship between Japanese people and dolphins in the Tokyo Islands,” O’Barry continues. “Dolphins are respected and protected in this part of Japan. It’s the opposite of Taiji, but very few people know about it. ‘Tokyo Celebrates the Dolphin’ will hopefully change this by bringing positive, international media attention to what is right about Japan.”

“I’m thrilled to bring a bunch of superstars together for a fun night with fans,” adds Sorum. “The main thing is to keep creating awareness for the Dolphin Project and everyone involved.”

Our resident Dolphin should be pleased!
