I've been negative all season long. But a top scoring winger for a prospect and middle round picks was good. Extending him at an ok cost with reasonable term is also good.

I am happy that Holland is stacking W's today.

Pettersson trade at the draft makes a lot of sense.

Kings top line of Panarin/Pettersson/Kempe would be something.

What about getting Petey now? Why else would we need the rangers to retain salary?

Gotta trade some prospects before they all go Kaliyev/JAD/Bjornfot/you get the idea. Greentree sounds like a better prospect than them and I would have much preferred him moved in a larger trade for Petterson.

Taken in isolation however this is a good, exciting trade.

Hiller must go. If Holland can fix the blue line then next season gets a lot more interesting.

Yeah, this is a pretty good deal for Holland. Sounds like Panarin wanted LA. Some teams offered more AAV and term, but he did not want to go there. Other teams offered more for trade, but wanted a rental. Sounds like the Kings were really the only option for Panarin and the return to the Rangers reflected that.

Glad it was Holland at the wheel for this. For some reason I think Blake would have grossly overpaid.

It was a good deal, and the term on the extension is fine. I still have concerns that he is to much of softy and liability.

When Panarin wanted a 5 year extension I was very opposed. This deal is so reasonable in term and salary. I am so happy that it went down like this. Can’t wait to see Panarin and Kempe on the same line. Now if only they had a center…

Or maybe he did ask Gavy and he might be ok with Hiller. If Gavy disliked Hiller I’m sure that would have been discussed with Panarin, who ultimately only wanted to come here.

I’ve got no problem with Panarin. He’s great at what he does. My issue is the team built around him and the head coach.

Exactly. There is a decent chance that his skills will not let him thrive in the Hiller system. I hope we're wrong, but right now, I'm from Missouri.
