Panarin to Kings

It will be interesting,on what type of impact and how long it will last on this team, when Panarin is in the lineup after the Olympic break. It may last just for a couple of games, and where Hiller inserts him in the lineup. My guess he will be on the Kopi/Kempe line for a few games, and then Hiller will move Panarin up and down the lineup to try to get other players scoring again. What would be interesting,if Hiller put Panarin with Kuzmenko and see how that would be an impact/improvement on the Kings offense.

Panarin would have been a good fit for a team like the Cane’s or a solid playoff team. Not a team that will most likely not make the playoffs. At least he will have a long summer.

Did OG Bailey also have #72? I don't remember. :noidea:

The Triple A line?

Yes, based on reports of his February 2026 contract extension with the Los Angeles Kings, the deal is heavily structured with signing bonuses.

Panarin was acquired by the Kings from the New York Rangers on February 4, 2026, and signed the extension immediately as part of the trade process.

You think Hiller would want to play Kopi as a winger instead of 2C? Not sure about that one.

I think it’s more likely he’ll start with a line like Kuz/Bread/QB.

Kings desperately need more R shots in their forward corps. I can’t count how many times Kings have had an open player in the slot, but the pass would arrive from their off hand side.

Is Panarin a center? I don't think he is. Kopitar would be the center, Kempe the right winger...if that was something Hiller will try.

Pairing him with Kuz would be interesting, but he'd have to play RW, but considering he's primarily a playmaker that could work (right shot RW as the playmaker).

Panarin-Kopi-Kempe
Kuz-QB-Panarin
Panarin-QB-Kempe (most likely to stick IMO).
And of course Hiller will try to force Fiala-QB-Panarin somehow.

This would be my guess...

Wow, if that is true that is extremely surprising. If true it likely comes down to Seattle not having players he desires to play with, or the LA scene (for his wife) which others have commented on. Let's face it, both systems (Seattle and LA) are where offense goes to die.
It seems like it's true. Seen rumors at multiple places that Panarin turned down a juicy 4 year deal in tax free Seattle. That's great for the Kings. We should be hyping up players coming here for the lifestyle rather than being surprised.

The Kings need to keep adding talent and retool on the fly.

Weird, the official LA Kings roster lists him as a C, so I took their word for it.🤷🏼‍♂️

So you would be right: Kopi will probably center the line. My bad.

No idea if this is the case for Panarin but I do know the Dodgers used a large signing bonus for one of their big free agents because he lives in Washington state during the offseason. There’s no state income tax in WA. So he save about 16% by taking a lump sum before the season starts.

Maybe the Kings plan to put him at C. Herd has played there a long time ago.

Maybe he wants buy some gold, silver, crypto and equities.
