PLD didn’t just watch right there - he skated right to the net, lowered the shoulder and carried the puck away - and with speed. Yeah, where the hell has that guy been?

Reminds me of Kempe in that regard, except Kempe adds value to the team.

I wish he would just focus on winning a single board battle and moving his legs when he has the puck. He’s got height but not size and I seriously doubt he will drop the mitts. You don’t pay a guy $8.5M to throw little hits here and there.

We’re only 15 mins in but, so far, seems like more of the same . . . as I expected.

End of the 1st period. I'm getting bad deja vu vibes here. Edmonton strikes first with two goals in the period and LA is getting manhandled for the most part. As much as we love to rag on PLD, he's looking like the best player on the ice for LA despite taking a questionably called penalty in that period. If the Kings don't take control back in their favor in the next 40 minutes, they'll be in deep trouble.

Yeah, indeed a fail. Maybe it's because you are supposed to assemble a team to win a Stanley Cup instead of defeating a specific team.

He’s overpaid no matter what, but he had decent possession skating and had dished off a couple good passes tonight. All of the Kings are being pushed to the outside so not tripping over myself to praise him, but he’s a different player tonight and carrying a presence on the ice.

Not speaking of value to the team big picture - just talking about the game in front of us through one period.
