I hear so much about how the Kings have “matured” and are “healthy” these playoffs, but Doughty and Kopitar are two years older and the Oilers have gotten better. I think the first time we played them and had them on the ropes was the year. I think Copley could have won that series. Too bad.

Is any of this surprising? The team is worse than it was last spring and gave up a ton of picks to get there. Blake peaked just before the 2023 trade deadline. Since then it has been mostly mistakes.

I believe Blake really had a Sakic-COL team and pipeline in his hands then rushed it last year. Started with doing Quick dirty. I think not landing Chychrun broke him or something.

But, plenty of days ahead for that. Hopefully not as soon as Monday.
