***Playoffs Rd 1, GM 5 GDT - Kings @ Oilers 4/25/23 >6:30pm< on KCOP Ch 13 & ESPN***

Part of this is just a bad draw for the Kings. Don’t know how they could have avoided it, but the Kings PK is a true weakness, and they’re going against the best PP of all time. And not only is their PP great, they buzz in the offensive zone which leads to penalties. I don’t think the Oilers are necessarily the best team in the playoffs, or even the West (though they may be!). But it’s like they’re specifically built to beat the Kings.

Kings had 42 seconds of offensive zone possession in the 2nd period. My god.

The Kings have killed off less than 40% of the Oilers PP. The greatest statistical PP in league history is clicking at DOUBLE their season average vs. the Kings. That’s above and beyond how great their season has been. They will not have this type of success against the rest of the teams they face this playoffs. That’s my point. They’re a phenomenal group but the Kings in particular are easily rolling over and letting them cook. That extra space and extra second the Oilers get to move the puck is directly a result of how they’ve pushed the Kings around for two playoffs in a row.

I agree with this. Making it way too easy….
Way too tentative…

I guess we’ll see won’t we. They could certainly carry this into their next series. Not arguing that the Kings have been way to passive and have mentioned it in this thread earlier.
