GDT ***Playoffs Rd1 GAME 5 GDT LA Kings @ Edmonton Oilers 5/1/24 7:00pm on BSW & ESPN***

The point, is, the Kings basically have not killed off a single penalty this game. One penalty just ended, but it was effectively a PP goal. Yes, the refs suck. Problem is, so do the Kings.
What ever happened to the "let them play" ref mentality. Nope bs call and Fiala call was borderline

Let's be real, I love the kings but I picked Oilers to advance again in my bracket. We just don't have the caliber to match Edm + refs. I'm glad Oilers will get smoked again next round against real deal contenders

I know our PK is starting to get badly exposed in this series but look at our equally horrid PP in this series. Why are our assistant coaches utilizing the same strategies in special teams over and over again when they know they're failing when facing actually good and skilled teams? That's just certifiably insane. If the Kings lose this game, not only do Blake and Luc have to go, but so should the assistant coaches responsible for this pathetic special teams structure they've laid out. And I thought McLellan was bad.

They do but this is the first time I’ve actually been mad all series. I’ve accepted from the start the Kings are the inferior team and isn’t close.

But those two call are so bad it’s an affront to the sport.

Yes, there are games where the officiating sucks but I have to disagree that there is some sort of bias. Sorry but it just doesn't exist.

Completely agree there’s no bias. That’s whiney Oiler fan nonsense. But gross incompetence isn’t much better.

You don't think superstars in the game like Crosby McDavid get specialty treatment and more benefits of the doubt? Really?

So what do we think? Will two of the worst calls ever made in playoff hockey history end up saving Blake’s job? lol. Wow.

Exactly! There's very little margin for error when your PP goes 0 for the series and PK is batting under 50%. The PK is 3 for 4 on paper today but all 3 2nd period goals were a direct result of the crappy PK.

Darryl Sutter would not be whining about bad calls. Good teams overcome the crappy reffing and find a way.

Superstar players tend to get the calls in this league. It's no different than when Gretzky high sticked Gilmour and there was no call.

No power play goals and a penalty kill struggling to get to 50% means you don't win in the playoffs.
I was going to bring that play up. Toronto fans still remember that and bring it up often.

The Los Angeles Kings announced today that they will not wear uniforms bearing the team’s name or that of its city next season. Instead, the players will don jerseys reading “Edmonton’s B****.” Luc Robitaille says the move is being made to more accurately reflect the team’s status as a perpetual doormat for their more alpha neighbors to the north to walk all over. “There is freedom and ultimately release in not pretending to be anything other than what we are,” the player-turned-exec said. “And what’s really exciting is that there are 28 more teams in the league and more arriving every year for us to simp for. We look forward to pursuing those opportunities.”

When Arvidson scored in last game on PP I was screaming at TV in despair and agony. They never should choose to play Oilers instead of Dallas
