***Playoffs Round 1, Game 2 GDT Oilers vs. Kings 4/23/25 7:00pm on tbs, max & FanDuelSoCal***

End of 1st period. For the second game in a row, the Kings get a PP goal in the first period. But they can't afford to back off as Deadmonton is going to throw everything at them just to win this game. 40 more minutes left and the Kings better protect and increase their lead.

Well, McPrincess once got a game misconduct penalty a few years ago during a regular season game against our Kings. But yeah, after that major penalty, the league seems to be a bit more lenient with his antics and let him get away with it.
I don’t believe you! But yeah, I saw it. 😉

Spence has been way overmatched in every contest he has played vs Edmonton.
It’s a shame. Forced the 7d so Gavi can play extra RD minutes for him and pushed Turc out. Though his would-be linemates aren’t making the case he’d get to play anyway.

What the hell was Spence thinking? I'm Kareem Abdul-Jabbar or the office ceiling duster. Waving at the puck a mile over your head is flat out stupid--just gets you out of position.

That was so atrocious. Led to that entire nightmare shift led by Oil bottom 6 no less.

I really want the Kings to draft more gritty power forwards in the next coming entry draft. Having only a few players with some grit in the roster is not enough and it makes the Kings look like paper tigers. Yeah, I know these types of players are dying breeds in today's hockey but I believe too much emphasis on speed and skill, while exciting for some people especially for those who never grew up watching pre-2010s hockey, doesn't make for an exciting team. You need to balance it out with grit or your team will be considered one-dimensional and not last well enough in the playoffs.

Can’t believe I’m saying this but the Kings really missing Jeannot in this game. The 4th line is worthless.
Those two guys need to be effective and take some time away from the big guns.

Looking at some of these replays I can't imagine what your body feels like after one of those games...let alone a whole series.

And when are we going to be slightly positive?
Oil outplayed the Kings that period but not as badly as Kings outplayed the Oil in periods 1 and 2 last game.

McDavid was going to come out building off period 3. This was inevitable. Kings coverage on him was honestly as good as it could have been. They pressured him and he didn’t rattle off a bunch of dangerous passes.

Kings have to be better to win but that’s a decent response period to what happened in period 3.
