GDT ***Playoffs Round 1, Game 3 GDT LA Kings @ Edmonton Oilers 4/25/25 7:00pm on FanDuel, TNT, tru, max***

Maybe do something like this? Play 4 lines and put Malott & Helenius on different lines, thus giving each line more physicality and balance. Maybe not the whole game but one period trying to protect a lead. A 4th line of Lewis/Turcotte, Laf & Moore, for example, then Hiller can roll 4. As for the D, he's gotta show some faith in Spence and Clarke at some point otherwise it will be more of last night's 3rd.
Lewis should not see another single minute in the playoffs!!!!

The only good news to me is that I think the Kings would have lost quickly if they made it to OT. Doughty is basically playing on one foot and it is absolutely insane that the other centers can't take more of Kopitar's ice time. So, it least the insane icetime with hard minutes they had in the game was minimized a bit.

I agree 100% with every word.

Hiller isn't the only reason we lost the game but he shoulders the majority of the blame. He did not coach a good game.

Love the way the boys battled back...and then that prolonged nightmare sequence... possibly the most unpleasant 10 seconds in King history...literally made me physically ill... especially with you know who directly involved.

Of all the Oilers scum, he's the most despicable.

Hiller better pull his head out of his ass tomorrow. Sorry I'm still pretty angry about the game.
having had some time to digest it all, i understand the reason for the 1-3-1, although i completely disagree with it, and i feel liek ive seen the results now and i think it's the wrong way to go. I also have listened to Hiller's reason for the challenge, and rewatched the replay a few times, and i sort of get that too, but ultimately still think it was wrong decision. Not because they lost the challenge, but because they 1. had to know they might not win that, and 2. didn't trust the team to win the game out on the ice. It's a tie game. Let them play.

Context matters here, and maybe if you're down a goal or two, you make that challenge to try and pull within even or within 1 and then give your team a real chance to battle for the tie late. But man... that's certainly not a challenge i would have made, with enough time left to keep playing and go out there and win the game.

But that's a coach's decision on the challenge. And that's a coach's decision on going with 1-3-1. And i think those were both the wrong decisions, and that's why im being critical of hiller here. The players were doing fine out there when they played more aggressive. And with the benefit of sitting at home, behind my tv (and in hindsight), i think he blew that game. It happens though. nobody is perfect. The team has played pretty well in all three games.

So go out there, play your game, and win game 4 and come home.
