Even with Hiller gone, Smith seems content on utilizing a similar strategy Hiller did for LA, and it's led to mixed results, more bad than good. No wonder us Kings fans also want him gone too.

Really tough season. The one thing that’s obvious is the team is short a top 6 Center and a Left shot D man who can exit the d zone cleanly.

This team was mostly rotten. They would have been eliminated a week before the season ended if they were in the East. The defense sucks and the centers are underwhelming.
Meanwhile Colorado is playing like a team which has amazing talent but also gave up the fewest goals in the NHL. This outcome was totally expected (and why I went to a concert Tuesday over watching the game).
