GDT ***San Jose Sharks vs. LA Kings GDT 1/7/26 7:30pm on FanDuel***

I don't know how to feel about this loss other than it sucked losing. I don't know what Kempe was thinking making a pass at the blue line like that. And I don't know how Byfield didn't score when he was right in front of the net. So yeah, the Kings made mistakes. But then, it shouldn't have gotten to overtime. That Edmundson goal should've counted & it should've ended at 4-3. There's no way he deliberately redirected the puck in with his hand as he was falling forward from being pushed. That's just dumb. How the refs or Toronto saw it that way, I have no idea. The whole purpose of the War Room in Toronto is to get calls right. And they got that wrong. BTW, the officiating this season has been horrible. Unfortunately the Kings have put themselves in a place where they can't afford to get bad calls like this. It sucks.

Mistakes happen throughout games. What I saw tonight is the future of the Pacific division. I saw a lot of young players and a few veterans mixed in with a dynamic 19 year old that will dominate the league for the next 10-15 years, barring a major injury. At this point there is no ceiling for the Sharks. They are only going to get better.

The Sharks are relentless, exciting and scary. They will take their bumps and bruises along the way, however, in a few seasons they will be atop this Pacific division. Even Tyler seems to be having fun out there.

Was on radio last night as I had a game myself during the game. Finished and came out to listen right after the celebrini goal to tie it up and based on the radio call I have no desire to watch that OT. That was the first of 5 games against Pacific division foes in the next 11, they need to get all those points or they're out of the race before the olympic break.

The title for the movie about this season is “Panic at the Blue Line” - inspired by last season’s playoff failure.

And it’s not just the defensive blue line. Dumb “cute” plays at the offensive blue line have cost the Kings just as many points.

I blame Hiller for not penalizing these brain dead plays. There should be a price to pay for all the idiocy that costs games.

The leadership group on the ice needs to address that stupidity as well.

How fun it is to see Turcotte the last couple of games. Looks like a completely new player that oozes of confidence!!

Just wish that our 🤡 for coach could have realized earlier that giving a young and promising player the opportunity and ice time could result in progress. I actually don’t think that Hiller still has realized it, this is only the result of him being forced to play Turcotte more because of the Danault trade and Kopitar injury…

The players can't bench themselves. There should consequences for crap that costs games... not just a game... it's been multiple games... but nothing changes.... no accountability.

The play, skill, and confidence Alex Turcotte has shown the past couple games,is the reason why the Kings drafted Alex Turcotte 5th overall in the 2021 Draft.Unfortunately as has been mentioned, this lame duck/clown coach and organization seemed to just don’t care. The line of Fiala-Turcotte and Kuzmenko was fun the watch and hopefully Hiller will keep this line together.

Because the goalie (Askarov) got a piece of it with his blocker. Yes, Byfield should have finished, but sometimes credit is due to the goalie as well.
