He didn't put together this crap roster.

People complain about him not playing Helenius but Sami isn't a NHL player. The defense is big and slow. Ceci left a guy uncovered just outside the crease for Seattle's first goal. Byfield has amazing qualities but isn't a NHL first liner. Physically gifted but lacks the sense of a Kopi or Beegeron that so many here thought he'd be. And his faceoff percentage is awful. Doughty finally got old and was never replaced though the draft. The one guy who did fill Doughty's number one role last year was allowed to walk in free agency.

The Kings are where they are due to C grade performance by Blake and a F from Holland. Changing the coach isn't going to magically create a top end talent.

But it's easier to fire the coach than the roster so get the pitchforks and torches.

The roster is lacking but let’s not pretend there was some massive turnover from last season 109 point team. This is about 85% the same roster as last season.

To complete the 2025 Los Angeles Kings viewing experience, I finally decided to put Benny Hill music on my other device in the living room, and it's amazing how well it syncs up with the Kings players. So far I find it a much more entertaining way to watch the Kings.
