So, who do we keep, trade or promote?

Because they obviously see him as a 7D/AHL guy at the moment. You want them to stick a kid who's spent most of his season in the AHL because he's not good enough to play in the NHL even though the team is desperate for LD, to play 20+ minutes a night at 4D and be the guy who's covering up for Durzi's frequent defensive lapses? Seriously?

No need to overreact, I asked a question and no where stated I wanted them to play Bjornot on the 2nd pairing with Durzi. I'm very curious as to why Bjornfot does not get more playing time in the NHL as he seems ready to make that step (as at least a 3rd pairing).

It might be true, but i thought the plan was to make him and Spence play the year out as the top pair in the A and get them used to being assertive. They wanted them to graduate into top 4 roles and not break in on a third pair. At the start of the season everyone was expecting that Durzi and Roy were placeholders anyway. This was jist going to be one more option. I couldn't tell you what their book on Toby is now though.

Thanks for the insight, this makes sense.

LeBrun claims we've inquired about Joel Edmundson. Would bring some physicality. Not sure if his abysmal stats this year point to him being in decline or just being on a bad team. Wouldn't be bad to have another d-man with a ring. On the other hand, he's had issues with his back.

He's currently DTD. Not ideal, but 6' 5"/221 lbs could be useful.

By the time the Kings play on Saturday, they will most probably be sitting in 4th place - and the other 4 teams in the race will still have at least 1 game in hand. This scheduling has me baffled...

Tomorrow, Edmonton is playing in Philly and Calgary in Detroit. Both Pacific teams have to be big favorites in those games. But we can hope for the Devils to beat Seattle and for the Wild to beat Vegas.

It's entirely possible that Edmonton starts next week in first place with 66 points if they beat Ottawa on Sunday.

Sure hope Rob has something good up his sleeve. Without an upgrade on defense, it is going to be very difficult for the inconsistent Kings to make the postseason dance - especially if Calgary starts playing up to expectation.

On the positive side, of the 29 remaining games 16 are at home. The Kings and Calgary have the best home records among the top 5 teams in the Pacific. One can hope that may provide some advantage.

I just don't know what to expect from the remainder of the season. I look at the -10 goal differential and think there's no chance. But then again, this group has been full of surprises! GKG!!!

We need 100 Monkey Lawyers to look through Mitchrock's NMC for ANY loophole because he needs to be finally traded. mhihi: :crazymonkey:

I say keep him until the off-season. He will have more value in the jungle.

The way things are shaping up the Kings only have to beat out one of Vegas / Seattle / Edmonton / Calgary / Minnesota, as I feel Nashville will fade. Seattle can't keep up their pace and the Kings have shown they can battle through injuries. Vegas is in a lot of injury trouble and all the aforementioned teams are an injury away from dire struggles. You figure Colorado will get their act together but they are vulnerable too it seems.

I like the Kings odds still at this point. More so if Blake can add a nice piece on the backend somehow.

I sure hope the Kings get in a practice game with the Sharks, Vegas or the Ducks before they resume the season against the Pens.

The schedule this year didn't do the Kings any favors. I suppose it all evens out at the end of the season, but I would think 29 games in 58 days or whatever it was probably cost the Kings 4-5 points. Then 10 days off and who knows if they will come out rusty or full of energy in the games vs Pitt and Buff.

Go Kings!!

Kings got some good help in tonight’s result with Seattle, Calgary and Edmonton (OTL) all losing. This Division couldn’t be much tighter!

The boys need to notch a win for Brownie on Saturday and hold their position in this dogfight.

Anyone have news about Moore?

Couldn't have the Kings done the ceremony for Brown about 3 or so games after the all star game break, so the Kings would have their feet under them, after the 10 day break. There has to be another Saturday game on the home schedule. Players will be rolling in from Vacation tomorrow. They will need a few days to get up to speed.

Part of the reason they may be doing the ceremony tomorrow vs Pitt is so Carter could be there also. I have not seen anything in writing confirming that, but just a thought.

Go Kings!!

I bet you're right. Also, looking at the schedule, there weren't many games in January.

1/3: no. Too close to New Year's.
1/5: no. Too close to New Year's.
1/7: no. Don't do it on against Vegas.
1/9: no. Don't do it on a Monday against Edmonton.
1/11: no. Don't do it on a Wednesday.
1/14: maybe. It's a Saturday and NJ.
1/19: no. Don't do it on a Thursday.

Calgary just hasn’t put it together this season. Huberdeau and Sutter look like a pretty rough match. Was rooting hard for CAL to win it all last year but more than happy to watch this implosion.

I thought that too at first, but in reality they have 3 good centers all of which are more setup man than scorers without any true goal scorers on their lines. Hubs is this X10 as he is the best setup man they have with no one really to setup (must be culture shock for him moving for a team that was filled with scoring threats). If they can get Mangiapane to look like he did last season, it would be huge.

That’s a really good point. Hadn’t thought of it. They have Toffoli, but definitely need more.
