So, who do we keep, trade or promote?

A few thoughts:
1. Nedeljkovic cost a 3rd
2. Husso cost a 3rd
3. Toronto traded Mrazek (2x$3.8M) + a 1st for a 2nd
4. Sens traded Matt Murray (2x$4.7M) with a 3rd + 7th for "futures"

It shouldn't cost a fortune to get Vejmelka or unload Petersen.

Don't know about that. Hey Arizona, will you take our mistake off our hands? He plays in the AHL only is owed another $11 or $12 million.

OK, but the Kings HAVE to unload a big contract to make this deal and AZ has to acquire a contract to make the cap floor because they'll fall below the floor if all they get back is Clarke + Spence/Bjornfot.

Yeah, I was just talking to my daughter about this. I had a feeling this might happen. Not sure how I feel but if you are in win now mode, and JC still has a long career ahead of him, probably a reasonable trade off. Still would leave a bit of a sour aftertaste in my mouth though.

Let me ask you this...if you had to choose one, would you give up Clarke or Byfield.

Clarke in a NY minute. The right side is still Doughty, Durzi, and Roy. With Walker as the 7th guy.

Rumor that Vejmelka also a part of the trade which could be what is driving up the Clarke asking price. Which leads to this question...who's the odd man out? Quick or Copley? Vejmelka and Copley would be a solid duo.

No odd man out. Just dress 3 goalies. You have 28 freaking games left.

So that means 7 D and 13 F. And cap considerations like putting Walker on waivers.

Should be able to trade Walker. Teams like OTT are very hungry for a RD. Can have 6D when at home to save cap space if needed and more games are at home. Bring Spence up for road trips.

Halftime hockey update: FWIW, I'm hearing the Kings have informed Brandt Clarke he is not being traded. Take it away, Rihanna...

Anticipate a goalie swap happening in the Jakob Chychrun trade. Hearing from multiple sources that LA has had their eyes on Vejmelka for a whi

Apparently Kypreos was so to bold as to report Chychrun was traded for Clarke, then had to update his story.

This is feeling like the Kovalchuk watch during summer 2010.

so I could have assumed that everybody would assume our 2 highest valued prospects would be assigned to the untouchable category by this board(Byfield & Clarke)

...sure we want to keep all of the high end prospects and trade only the least valuable prospects that we all already gave up on for the various super stars across the NHL.Sure. ...but "you gotta give to get."
A deal involving those 2 plus our 1st should and would land you just about any player you wanted in the NHL. add another first, Vilardi and JAD and you have the value to ask for damn near MCDavid

Oh come on now, so you’re telling me that you think Edmonton is crazy enough to trade the best hockey player on the planet? To the Los Angeles Kings, no less? Get real.. as if some wild scenario like that could -ever- happen……………..
