What exactly was her deal with the invisible jet in the comics?

I know she had one on Superfriends. But that seemed like Batman had the Batmobile, Superman could fly, so she needed... something... to get around in.

Was it, like, created by Hermes or Hephaistos? Athena give it to her for her 16th birthday?

And yeah, how the f*** is that gonna work in live action?

And how the f*** is Steve Trevor back???

And was Chief ever confirmed as a Native-American superhero???

And what's in the fanny pack???

So many questions! I'm looking forward to getting the answers.

Wonder Woman initially couldn't fly in the comics. Neither could Superman for that matter. I guess gravity wasn't so easily conquered in DC's universe back then. Ha!

So it was a practical thing. Depending on what story, she either created it or it was a gift. What I and most people find funny is that it's invisible so people won't shoot at it, yet, Wonder Woman can usually be seen floating by, lol.

Since she can now fly, she doesn't need it at least in the comics, BUT those Superfriends Cartoons and Lynda Carter's Show used it, well, because subtlety wasn't the order of those shows, and I think that's why people remember it not because of the really old comics. So when it makes an appearance in contemporary comics, I think most of us see it as a wink and nudge reference to those two shows more than her old comics (but it references those too).

The current Wonder Woman series is close to the 50 issue mark and unless I my memory is tricking me, the plane hasn't made an appearance in that series. And that makes me sad. :(

She can fly now?

In the comics. Yep, and totally.

Dunno. So far her current movie incarnation hasn't been shown to have the ability to fly. It's sort of one of her main powers in the comics for a while, but part of me thinks that having her fly around in the movie sbe over the top.

I mean the No-Man's scene in the first movie is so bad ass because she has to walk through and fight her way thorough. Had she just flown over the enemy soldiers at great speed and attacked them, lol, as more efficient as it would've been, wouldn't had near the same effect.

I am okay with her not flying in the movies. For now...

That's all I am going to say about Wonder Woman today. I don't want people to think that I am some kind of a nerd. mhihi: ;)

Just a smidge. An Enigma wrapped inside a puzzle wrapped in a cheesy Doritos Loco Taco Bell shell.

Well, she does have the Big Jump at her disposal in the movie, which is a nice way to get her kinda airborne while still keeping her grounded (both literally and figuratively).

Yes that was how the original Superman comics were "Able to leap Tall Buildings in a Single Bound"

Patty Jenkins tweeted a picture of Wiig the day the logo and stuff came out. It just got overshadowed by the photos of Chris Pine, I guess.

But this was the revelation of that day for me.

So, I saw "Justice League" tonight on HBO.

It was better than I had expected, and some parts of it had something. Gal Gadot is a treasure. But overall, it was problematic. A definite step in the right direction, but still not there yet.

I don't wanna get into lots of details. From a story standpoint, I understood it, but there was a ton that you kinda just had to accept and move on. Not that you don't have to do that with a bunch of these movies, but this crept into distracting. As far as the main characters, the new editions I found mostly "meh." Superman remains too serious. Batman seemed too light. I heart Wonder Woman.

But hey, what was the light that kept sucking Steppenwolf up? Did he have a ship? A portal to another planet/dimension? Is there some higher power pulling him back so he can report or, in the end, answer to? He kept talking about "Mother." Was there an unknown "mother" character out there? Or was he personifying the power of the combined stones when he spoke?

I know the Batman movie is stalled at this point. Aquaman is coming. And obviously there's Wonder Woman coming.* Anything else in the hopper for these guys?

* Which will, again, have little or nothing to do with this team up. And incidentally, wouldn't there be another potential paradox given some of the conversation in "Justice League?"

I did hear Steppenwolf mention "Dark Side" at one point. Whether he was referring to "Darkseid" or not, i dont know.

I think the "potential paradox" you speak of is probably Flashpoint. I don't read comics anymore but that's what I hear. Batman v Superman hinted at it too in that "dream sequence" scene.

No, that wasn't it. But I know what you're talking about. It wasn't that weird dream sequence Flash thing. Speaking of that, though, was that paid off here? Superman came back, apparently in a pissy mood. And Batman brought in Lois to bring him down off the ledge. So, had he not done that, Superman would have defeated Steppenwolf, taken over the insect army and then the world? Or was there another threat that's supposed to be coming involving "Flashpoint?" Being a non-comic guy, I don't know the ins and outs of that storyline, so I don't have that information to fill in any gaps.

It was the Wonder Woman / Steve Trevor thing. He died, she went into hiding. In this movie, she's just starting to come back into the world after working with Batman.

But now, we know Steve Trevor is seemingly coming back, and she's fighting someone in 1984. So she wasn't completely underground and she was fighting the good fight at least once, about 30 years ago. How does that fit into this movie?

Trevor will prob die in 84.

Sure. But the way those conversations between Wonder Woman and Batman go, he died once in WWI, then she went away and only started to come back to help during and after the whole BvS thing.

They seem to know pretty much everything about each other, so the fact that she popped up once in the 80's along with her almost boyfriend or whatever seems at odds with those conversations.

Continuity has never been DC's thing haha
