Has Kevin Smith revealed Warner Bros.' Justice League story strategy? | Blastr

Beyond that, we still don't know exactly how the League will come together, how many members it will have or who'll they'll end up facing. If Smith knows those things, he's not telling, but he is saying that Warner Bros. is thinking of its Justice League story not as a single epic film preceded by some buildup movies, but as one long story spread out across several films.

“But look, they’re obviously beginning something, and there’s a stretch of these flicks,” Smith said. “And so this is the beginning of the Justice League, as we all suspected as they were announcing that cast. We were like, ‘This is the beginning of a Justice League movie.’ From what I understand now, it’s no longer like, ‘This is Superman 2.’ They’re not doing these things. They’re doing like, ‘Here’s Man of Steel. Here’s Batman/Superman: Dawn of Justice.’ The next one is not like a sequel to one of the characters. They’re just going to keep building their universe for about five or six movies.”

“But all of them…it’s supposed to tell one massive story, which is all Justice League oriented."

Ever since word started to spread at last year's San Diego Comic-Con that the Man of Steel followup would be a Batman/Superman movie, and that Justice League would likely follow it, many fans have been disheartened by Warner Bros.' approach, deeming it inferior to Marvel's decision to tell several single-hero stories in the lead-up to a big ensemble piece. If Smith is right, though, Warner Bros. could be up to something else. We could be set for half a dozen films that all tell the story of a coalescing and then active Justice League, with all the bumps and internal conflicts that might entail along the way. That's still not the same as giving us solo films for Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and the like (though, for all we know, those could be coming too), but it is less simplistic than what many were expecting from Warner Bros. Of course, what we see onscreen could be something entirely different from what Smith is describing here, but we can call it food for thought.

Rumor of the day: Is this the LexCorp we'll see in Batman v Superman? | Blastr

Ok...obvious, but still clever. Explains the casting a little more. Why not. Color me optimistic.
As you know, I really liked Man of Steel. My only concern with this movie is that they seem like they're rushing everything so they can be "caught up" with Marvel instead of doing it "right". I hope I'm wrong though. Would really suck to see more Batman killed before even really getting it started.

Go back a page to post #510 , sure it's from Kevin Smith(basically, they are gonna use Bats/Supes to anchor and tell an ongoing story from movie to movie, introducing players along the way)...but he is gay for Affleck so I trust it. If the plan detailed therein is correct they can kill two birds with one stone. AND, more importantly, their plan is DIFFERENT from Marvel's so it can be judged on it's own merits and not as a carbon copy. Its pretty ambitious and could go horribly wrong, but I think if they get enough right they can correct as they go along and people will still buy in.

So it's like those silly Batman crossover in which you have to buy all Batman titles for months you have to see every DC movie to get the whole story? Talk about no mercy, haha! mhihi:

Yeah Orph...but Marvel is doing the same thing now, they just started with the individual movies. Cap'n 2 is already tied in to A2 annnnnnd AntMan. Dc's model makes more sense. You make a lone character based flick solely if there is demand.

I was just thinking that after reading that post. It's an interesting idea and, as long as it's sold as such, the fans SHOULD buy in. I know I would. My one complaint about the latest Marvel movies has been that, instead of it being about the character, it all just feels like a set up for AVENGERSSSSS!!!!!...which can be a little lame. Having said that, I enjoyed Avengers 1.5, I mean, Captain America: Winter Soldier quite a bit.

Agreed. I think that's why the Dark Knight trilogy appealed to me because it was different. If they try to compete with the Avengers by doing something similar I think it will fall short.

If they can strike that delicate balance between dark and light then I think it will be great but both characters must stay true to their origins.

Batman v Superman Stars Jason Momoa as Aquaman

HitFix assertively reports that Momoa will be playing Aquaman (though not necessarily by that exact name) in Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The write-up also delves into the presumed plot of the film, which is thought to have Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) turning the populace of Metropolis against the last son of Krypton because of the widespread destruction he inadvertently caused. In addition to the land-dwelling folks not being too happy with Superman, it’s proposed that Arthur Curry, aka Aquaman, is equally displeased with the havoc caused by Zod’s World Engine poised over the Indian Ocean. That being said, Aquaman (and Momoa) is expected to have a smaller role in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which sets him up for a bigger part in Justice League.
