Superman v Batman/DC movies

In yet another disgusting case of ageism against women in Hollywood, 34-year-old Lauren Cohan is playing 43-year-old Ben Affleck’s mom. I guess Rose McGowan was right.
 
I'm trying to avoid any spoilers but I'm assuming its going to be a flash back which would require a younger actress.

I assumed it would be a flashback sequence.

Martha Wayne is usually dead well in advance of Bruce becoming Batman...

But yeah, she's gonna be his mom when Bruce Wayne was a kid.

EDIT: Once again Collider has allowed someone with an obvious axe to grind, to write this piece. Every quote is presented with a severe rebuttal. I love the site, but when it comes to covering this movie, or Snyder, there is a definite Fox News vibe that is hard to ignore.

Personally, I don't think Snyder should say anything. It's a lose/lose proposition for him at this point. The negativity is overwhelming to the point that even if he makes the greatest superhero movie ever the haters are just going to pile on based on previous opinions. It's like the anti Nolan effect. No matter what he does it's THE BEST THING EVER!!! Whether it is or not. Snyder needs to hire whatever witch doctors Nolan has used to hoodwink the entire world. Seriously...


And, begin.

I wish that Snyder would stop answering these questions by trying to explain himself to critical comic book fans. Bottom line is he's the guy charged with directing some of these movies, and I'd love it if he just said,"Hey, we're being allowed to tell the Superman stories we want to tell, and we're going to do what we think is interesting." What I'd say to anyone who is upset about Zack's work is that Richard Donner made a movie they might like, and Donner and Richard Lester made a sequel that many love; or Bryan Singer ? nah, I'll leave that one out; plus, there was a live-action TV show; there are all kinds of cartoons; plenty of comic books, of course; and, if none of those are good enough, there will undoubtedly be a motion picture reboot somewhere down the line. If they're still not happy, they can always write their own fanfic.

FWIW, I do root for Zack Snyder's success, but I did not like Man of Steel (although I loved the entire Krypton sequence ? amazing!). I'm not necessarily amped for Dawn of Justice, but I'm going to see it anyway, and I might even like it.

Well said, as usual. My biggest thing is that I don't think he would feel the need to justify himself if the negative waves weren't so overt. Even if you don't like his work I am not sure I get peoples almost palpable hatred of the man. I simply don't get it. I just saw 300 for the gazillionth time overnight...it's a beautiful movie that looks and feels like the graphic novel it comes from. His Dawn of the Dead remake is just as good, if not better than the original(in large part due to James Gunn's screenplay), and Watchmen is simply essential in the ranking of Comic Book Movies. I was NOT a Superman fan going into MoS. And I think it was because of the movies that came before. Supes is like a quarterback with a clean jersey. He is one dimensional in his 'good' ness. Snyder's version may have deviated from that depiction...but that is what made Superman FINALLY an interesting character to me. So as not to paint myself as a complete apologist, saying that he is drawing from comic book canon is kinda meh. I mean, especially in this 're-invent every 6 months' world, that pretty much allows for a hundred million different takes.
 
Agree with both of you guys ... Snyder should just stop talking and say they are his movies to make. I loved MoS until Zod showed up. I liked the movie and the origin and the rest may have worked better if Supes had spent the rest of the movie trying to save Metropolis instead of watching it be destroyed. But it was Snyder's take and I applaud him for it. The next movie seems truly challenging in its' attempts at the next phase of the story. I wish him luck!
