Update on my SportMask.
She cleaned up nicely! I used some automotive polish and wax, along with some elbow grease.
Then it was time to pull out the crusty 10 year old foam. Ended up using Goo Gone per the advice of other SportMask users and it worked like a charm.

I finally got to use it last night at Coach Ethan's Clinic at Paramount. The mask felt great, it does have a different chin shape than my Bauer NME8 so that took a little bit to get used to, the SportMask's chin pretty much goes straight down, whereas the Bauer NME8's kind of swoops out, so it doesn't get caught up on the chesty. Both have their advantages in that department, but I will say I like that the SportMask more or less seals off the gap that the Bauer leaves open in that very vulnerable area. Also, the SportMask felt a bit lighter than the Bauer and my face felt closer to the cage, it offers much better peripheral vision than the Bauer, I loved that part. I will eventually get a cat eye cage for it.
As far as the clinic goes, it was fun, yet tiring. 1.5 hours of skating on crappy, slushy, yet choppy ice. The crease areas were hammered. This was my second time attending this clinic and this time around the goalies were well integrated into the program almost right away. We had 4 different stations around the ice and each one had a different drill going on. This was cool because it allowed the goalies to rotate stations as well. I was getting gassed at my first station, as it basically was a 3 on 0, skaters came in and worked a weave type of passing set up. This always ended up in a backdoor shot on goal, after awhile I just stayed down in butterfly and worked from there. It got pretty tiring trying to track the puck with one group right after another. Another station had two goals set up, one on the side boards and one closer to the boards on the goal line. Basically the skater would take a shot on the side goal after a few strides, then cut towards the goal line and receive a pass from the coach along the side boards and shoot on the goal on the goal line. That was cool, and wasn't quite as tiring as the 3 on 0 station for me. I never tended the goal for the snap shot/slap shot station, darn.
#sarcasm. Those station drills made up a good majority of the skate. After that we set up the goals cross ice in each zone and did a mini-game for about 15 minutes or so, that was a nice and fun way to wind down the skate.
oh yeah, Peggy_GKG was there and it was nice to see him, he is nice. I haven't skated with him in about a month, but he has still be skating and has made great progress. Special side note about him, he wears fluorescent underpants.
