Not to be Debbie Downer....but here is a take:

G's get a TAM striker at DP cost/roster spot. Improvement over last year? Sure.
G's get to excellent CB's. Improvement over last year? Absolutely!

Puig is gone. G's have NOBODY on the roster currently that can be a decent creative 10.
Let alone a equivalent of Puig....and that would be needed to contend for MLS Cup.

So the G's have no DP spot left, No U22 spots left (IIRC) so "how" do they get a legit 10?

UNLESS: They can buy down Santa Klauss to TAM at summer transfer window, and free up a DP spot for said 10. I have not heard or read anywhere that this for sure can happen with Klauss....only it "could" happen.

Final thought:
To contend for MLS Cup in 2026 you have to beat Miami. They are stacked.
G's current roster build....not so much. Is 2026 (on paper) already in the bin?

Also.....man am I nervous about Reus getting too many minutes this season.
Dude played 23 matches last season after being MIA in the early part of the season with injury.

Come on G's....give me HOPE!

Um...yes?

Sadly it's another "wait until we get Puig back" year that may never happen. But anything to improve over last season is good.

But nah, 2026 G's will be like there's only one thing left to do..

As I read a little bit more, it seems the contract is through next year's half season, with an option for the first full season with new schedule in 27-28. And not a TAM player. Seems like an okay deal

Fagundez replacement.....seems to be IMHO. No TAM is excellent.

Ghanaian winger Joseph Paintsil is a hot commodity in the transfer market, with interest from both Turkey and top European leagues. LA Galaxy has rejected offers from Ligue 1, seeking a record-breaking bid of €17-20 million. Trabzonspor is actively pursuing the 28-year-old, with former teammate Paul Onuachu involved in negotiations. Galaxy may consider selling for the right price, but are looking for a world-class replacement before approving any transfer.

So we would have to find a replacement by Feb 6th or that's just to sell him? I'm going to say wait until summer and don't rush it, we'll need him this year. And selfishly if we did sell my son would be crushed.

I'm pretty sure the winter offers were not what the Galaxy were quite looking for.
I'm sure Kuntz is like "yea, no." ....when asked to sell him during preseason, after Kuntz made all his preseason moves.

I agree with you, the far more interesting thing is selling him during the summer.
That makes a lot more sense. Getting that $$ and opening the DP spot during the summer window.

Still though, the stars would need to align to sell Joe, and have a big get ready to go.

Um color me not that excited yet. It's preseason.
...but what if I told you Sanabria has scored goals in two of the three matches.

Yea.....that guy.

Man, if the G's can get Sanabria play level to the investment they put into him.........that would be something.

If he does it Feb 22nd, I'll be impressed
