1-1 draw at home.

Highs: Klaus, Glesness
Mids: Reus, Paintsill, Pec, Sanabria, Aude
Lows: Haak, Micivic, Garces, Yamanne

Nice to see some creativity in the opening minutes. Klaus and Reus were working.
Congrats to Klaus on the kid.

Wow, Garces is still out of control.
I don’t know why this coaching staff can’t polish this rough talented stone into a diamond! Still is reckless. Yea he got elbowed but still. Already on a yellow when the penalty happened.

Haak was a giveaway machine!!
I hope it’s jitters because he can’t be a 6.
He needs to be part of a 3 man back.

Micovic…you knew he wasn’t even going to come close to saving a PK. JMac made you feel you had a chance.

Captain Obvious: Missing a 10.

Hopefully Thommy is the answer for the 10.

Coaching wise….same old Vanney.
I dunno what he worked on with them in the preseason….cause this wasn’t it.

A flourish for about 10 minutes in the first half then all NYCFC.

Can you imagine if this wasn’t against opponent that had an offense?

Let’s hope this is still rust and jitters.

On to 2nd leg of CCC.
I’d be lying if I said I’m not nervous.

It’s gonna be a long and bumpy year…

So excited when they scored early and Vanney proceeded to make it as boring of soccer as possible

also by the way, those rich people tables were put in the corner by the flag, not directly in front of me as th sideline seats are still there. only 2 of the 5 were used until after halftime when a few people sat at 2 more... :)

No fun to beer shower forward when nobody is there to get hosed. ; )

Underwhelming result, but the G’s punch their ticket into the next round.

5 man back, low block…and the G’s answer is putting the ball into each other’s feet. No vertical play, no runs. Just slow plodding predictable Vanney ball in the final 3rd.

I guess we can be happy for a clean sheet.

That was a rough watch.
Gonna be a long season if the G’s play like this.

What a snoozefest. Clean sheet because that team was god awful.

Cant agree more. Our midfield sucks and there is no movement off the ball at all. No creativity for real scoring chances.

Is it just me or is Justin Haak HORRIBLE as a defensive mid?

Dude gives away the ball all the time. He seems to be full panic mode when he gets the ball and immediately tries to pass or kick it away.....and mostly into low percentage or dangerous areas.

2026.....two seasons on from the Championship and we still lack and 8 and a 10.

do not disaparage haak tuah!

Yeah I noticed the same things. Unreal

Lolz…. G’s looking for a savior in the midfield by way of Thommy.

Thommy is THE guy?!?!

I guess he’s the best they could get on short notice after Riqui blew up his knee again.
Clearly any combo of Sanabria, Reus, Wynder, Haak, Cerillo ain’t cutting it currently.

^^^ I hope it’s for peanuts, and that they want to keep him as a cap friendly supersub option for next season.

I’ve heard it said that if the G’s didn’t win MLS cup in 24….would fans want Reus on the roster anymore?

He’s a legend, but he is only usable in limited minutes. The way the club uses him now is driving him into the ground while slowing the offensive speed.

I know it’s because of Riqui and Delgado being gone, but Reus was always supposed to be a supersub, not a starter.

3-0 over CLT.

No Haak No Reus = midfield that was mobile!

Wynder, Cerillo, and Sanabria looked really good! Those guys made the wings alive!

Klaus is FANTASTIC! Love this man!

Glesness is absolutely wonderful!

Playing balls into channels instead of at players feet is what the G’s need to do in every match!

Let’s go!
G’s up!!!!

Front runner for TIFO of the year......
Bravo, Minnessota!

4 games no losses. Demolish Charlotte. See you at MLS Cup? :)

But really who was that team. There was fluid ball movement and wing play. Klauss is amazing I just hope we don't run him into the ground.

Agreed!

Klauss is a big part of making the offense happen, but I think the larger part (and again this is only a one game sample) was that Reus did not start., and neither did Haak.

Rues is very creative, but too sloooow for 90 minutes.
Sanabria was surprisingly better in that spot VS Sanabria from last season. I can't recall seeing him play there...usually he was an 8 or double pivot with Cerillo.

Wynder held his own at the 8 spot. Letting Cerillo be just a 6 only 6 means a better Cerillo IMHO.

G's had speed and were able to finally get balls from the back line up to the midfield and to the front third.
Finally no longer playing balls into each other's feet going forward, but playing the ball through and into the channels for Pec, Klaus, Paintsill to run up on it.
