The Avengers/Marvel movies

Got a screening pass from my comic store for Cap tomorrow! Excited, but they're strangely only Admit One. I guess I will need to be there 2 hours early...
 
Not surprisingly Cap was awesome tonight!

No spoilers, but ask me whatever. :)

I hope so.... cus here's a spoiler for you....

I'm completely bored with the MARVEL Movies at this point.

I don't have any specific complaints really.... the movies are well crafted, cast, acted, written, paced etc etc etc....... but what are the stakes? Other than Coulson (who has already returned from the dead) do we honestly believe any of these characters will ever die? Or even be sad for more than five to ten minutes at a time?

Splosions, running, tension breaking joke, Black Widow's ass in shot, rinse, repeat....................

I like these movies well enough but my god it's getting tedious. Bring on Guardians of the Galaxy already.

Have to agree to a point. It was almost the same formula as the Avengers. And, like the Avengers...went on wayyyyyyyy too long. There was a lot to like, but I also agree that I think absolutely NOBODY believed that ____ ____ was gonna stay dead. Hey, big discussion afterwards, does Redford wear a wig. It didn't look like one and, unlike Reynolds/Shatner nobody ever has seemed to accuse him, but that was a serious set of boyish locks on a man his age.

It was obvious as hell that Redford was the big bad from the beginning.

One fight too many.
As a comic book fan I have to say I dug all the cool retrofit stuff(for a change). Arnim Zola was clever as hell and (SPOILERS) the Baron Strucker tag on at the end made me feel like they are heading in a more comic book-y/fun/GoTG direction for Cap'n. And Anthony Mackie was a revelation. Still not cool on the ULTRA Falcon thing, but his alternate heavy stuff(ptsd etc) and light stuff with Cap'n really made the movie swing. Nice Batroc the Leaper tuck in, but I was disappointed that Frank Grillo doesn't become Crossbones till the end of the movie. Nice Stephen Strange callout too.
