The Avengers/Marvel movies

Wait a minute.

Other than the fact that RDJ is going to have a bigger role in Cap 3 than previously thought, apparently, where is all this talk about Civil War coming from? I haven't had time to read many of the articles making that statement, but all the many headlines I've seen just say "could". Do we have any reason to believe this might happen, or did someone make a guess based on a small amount of evidence and then everyone ran with it?

Most of it is speculation, but I recall the 2 directors of the last Capn flick kinda being cagey about it in an interview I will see if I can find. It makes all the sense in the world though. Fairly persistent rumors that Hulk may be sent off into space at end of A2 and the other ones about some of the big stars given a movie off for A3 whilst Cap recruits some new members...the rift between Iron Man and Cap would fit into all this strife. Add in that it looks like they are recajiggering Ultron's origin to put the blame at Stark's feet and you have the basis for a whole lot of bickering/turmoil/drama. That being said, I don't think it will be a slavish recreation of Civil War, just the impetus for all the bad blood and team splitting.

If I remember my Daredevil: Man Without Fear correctly, the black outfit is what he wore before he put on the red stuff. Hopefully, that's the same here.

I think the first suit was yellow and black?

I think someone just saw RDJ was joining in a big role and immediately assumed it's Civil War. and even if it IS Civil War, it won't be like in the comics, like you said. in the movieverse, no one's worried about giving up their secret identities because no one really has secret identities. I'm fine with everyone taking sides on something as long as it's a little more believable in the movie. I hated Civil War because it randomly pit Steve and Tony against each other with NO warning and almost no reason behind it. they were total buddies before, and suddenly they disagree on something and now hate each other and can't come to terms on anything? it was too drastic and it wasn't believable and I hated it.

that being said, if they do end up with the general idea of Civil War, I just hope this panel ends up in the movie.

SPOILERS, if you've been living under a rock, I guess??

You're right. That was before red, anyway. I'm betting (hoping) they skip that, though. :)

I did look it up, too, just to make sure I wasn't going crazy.

I hope he dons the red sooner rather than later.

This is not only plausible, but it sounds like a good idea, to an extent. As long as:

-Like you say, it's not slavish
-It doesn't push back Infinity Gauntlet. :)

Don't even think about it, Sony!

Andrew Steinbeiser, ComicBook.com (10/19/14)
Of course, the biggest factor in creating a Spider-Gwen movie hasn’t much to do with the character at all (sorry, comic fans). Actress Emma Stone is the real golden goose here. With Gwen already established in their Spider-Man universe, Sony must see their chance at a female-led franchise with a super-star actress already built in. This could be their Hunger Games, but with bigger box office returns. A mainstream moviegoer would be far more tempted to see a female superhero film with Emma Stone in a familiar role than an unfamiliar character, like Jessica Drew or Black Cat.

Every week studios make me more and more eager for the inevitable implosion of the superhero genre.
