And Dark World director Alan Taylor ain’t too happy about that.
The Sopranos/Game of Thrones helmsman has been waging his own epic battles with the studio over the length and tone of his movie’s final cut since production wrapped. It seems that Taylor wasn’t involved in the filming of the post-credits scenes, and in fact there will be not one but two bonus scenes guaranteed to kick those moviegoer butts firmly in their scenes even when Thor’s newest action spectacular comes to a close. The first of which will be shown midway through the end credits.
Taylor was queried about the content of those teasers by Bleeding Cool’s Brendon Connelly during the recent press day for Dark World in London. After denying being a part of shooting those scenes he was asked if one or both of them were directed by Guardians‘ fearless behind-the-camera leader James Gunn, to which Taylor replied, “I wouldn’t blame it on James Gunn…er, I wouldn’t attribute it to James Gunn. It’s clearly his sets and his characters.”
When asked for additional clarification about those extra scenes Taylor offered only vague answers as to what Marvel fans can look forward to seeing for themselves in a few weeks:
“It’s a different tone. I would have shot it differently….The ‘Guardians’ universe is really cool and wacky, but that sequence in the credits, I would say, is the only part of the movie where I’m happy to give the credit away.”
