The Avengers/Marvel movies

All Things: Marvel and All Things:DC I like. Pretty all encompassing. BUT, where does all the other stuff go. Do we rename the Comic Books and CB Movies thread too?

Funny thing, Marvel seems to be keeping Vision under wraps. Might have been enough to sway me if I could have seen a teaser shot. Oh and I don't know if it's been mentioned but Corey Stoll is playing Yellowjacket, who is the villain of the piece apparently.

I was thinking, and I'm not married to the idea so please feel free to suggest otherwise:

All Things: The Avengers and Marvel Movie-verse
All Things: Superman v Batman and DC Movie-verse

And then, I dunno. Should we change the general comics thread? I think it's probably ok the way it is.

Maybe?

ALL THINGS: Marvel-verse Movies/Shows
ALL THINGS: DC-verse Movies/Shows
ALL THINGS: Comic BOOKS
ALL THINGS: Not Marvel/DC Movies/Shows

how's that?

We are getting waaaaaaay too specific with too many categories. The wanderer in from the cold will have NO idea where to look. Maybe we just do a retitle all things Avengers/Marvelverse and keep the others as is with maybe a title tweak? Maybe Batman V Superman/Justice League...and just keep the generic thread as is to encompass the rest. The simpler the better.

i got it...

All Things: I quit reading comics when I got my first girlfriend in college but I just want to know how they are screwing up the stories with these movies

Review: Marvel's 'Guardians Of The Galaxy' | The Playlist

Indeed, one of the biggest pleasures is the way that the film feels, even more so than this spring’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” a deviation from the Marvel formula, a gloriously, defiant weird movie that nevertheless proves to be an enormous crowd-pleaser. The final credits promise that "Guardians Of The Galaxy Will Return," and for once, you’re actively looking forward to it. [B+]

Look who Evangeline Lilly is really playing in Ant-Man + the fate of Janet Van Dyne revealed! | Blastr

As for the fate of Hope Pym’s mother, Janet Van Dyne -- aka the original the Wasp -- actor Michael Douglas revealed that she is indeed in the movie but dies in some sort of accident.

Here's what Douglas had to say in an Entertainment Weekly interview during this week-end's San Diego Comic-Con:

“My name is Dr. Henry Pym. I’m an entomologist. I’m also a physicist and I discovered in 1963, a way, a serum to reduce a human being to the size of ant maintaining the strength. Not only that, but I was able to find a way to communicate with the ants. But unfortunately during this process, a tragic personal accident happened with my wife, my daughter, Evangeline, Hope. So I’ve had to pass my powers and strengths onto a mentor.”

Is this leaked Guardians of the Galaxy clip the WTF after-credit scene? | Blastr

Yeah. Go ahead and watch it again. That’s right, the footage apparently shows Benicio del Toro’s beaten Collector, with (what appears to be) Cosmo the dog licking his wounds. But who else is he talking to? Howard the Duck, one of Marvel’s long-forgotten characters that we honestly thought would never pop up again. But, this is a film with a talking raccoon and warrior tree, so it’s about the only place a WTF cameo from Howard might actually fit.

HTD?????? HTD???????? OH HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!

Since this is now the Marvel Movies thread...

Wesley Snipes Wants To Make 'Blade 4,' Says "Experimental " 'Blade' Movies Paved The Way For 'Avengers' | The Playlist

"I'd be open to it. I think we've got some stones left unturned and there's some latitude left for us to build on and I'd love to get back in the suit again and do some things I've learned how to do now that I didn't know how to do then," he told MTV at Comic-Con. "I think we're better at making that kind of a film now. Some of the things we did in the early parts of the franchise were experimental and now they've become customary in a lot of the 'Avengers' films and other comic book adaptations."

Heh. Something tells me that if Marvel wants to do another Blade movie, it's going to be a reboot (now that the character's rights have reverted back to them). Even if the stories about Snipes' attitude on the set of the last one were not true.
