The Avengers/Marvel movies

I see lots of words but i see no point

Well like anything that has success it's de rigeur to predict failure. Eventually you are gonna be right, and you can crow about how you predicted the demise blah blah blah. Success breeds contempt and all that jazz. It's human nature.

He certainly covered all his bases.

the Ant-Man cast is actually kind of amazing. damn you, Marvel! how dare you make me want to see this ****show!!!

It may not be that bad...it's just that it's not gonna be directed by Edgar Wright, which I think we all wanted to see. If the sticking points were what they are rumored to be (a key character's moral motivation, blatant product placement...) it may not even be that different from what was imagined. After all they are working from the Cornish/Wright screenplay(with last minute rewrites from a few folks). As much as I hate to admit it, it will probably be a perfectly fine movie just with sanded down edges that Wright would have brought to the table.

'Agents of SHIELD' Enlists Adrianne Palicki as Marvel Favorite (Exclusive) - Hollywood Reporter

Friday Night Lights favorite and comic book fan Adrianne Palicki has been tapped to guest-star as Marvel superspy Bobbi Morse, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Best known to comics fans as Mockingbird, Palicki's character will appear in the fifth episode of the Marvel procedural with the potential to return; the episode will find her popping in perhaps not as an ally to Coulson (Clark Gregg) and his team.

'Guardians of the Galaxy' Character Creators Fight for Cash and Credit - NYTimes

Mr. Giffen, however, was pessimistic that Mr. Kirby’s heirs and allies would prevail.

“The Supreme Court is going to rule for a bunch of scruffy artists and freelance writers over a multinational, multibillion-dollar corporation?” he said. “Are you out of your mind?”

An interesting read, even though the headline is misleading. No one is actually "fighting".

“My doing all this is not because of some belief that I will be able to change things,” he said. “I know I can’t. But I set out to make the story more well known, so that there is a well of public support, which does have an effect. That can sway people.”

Michael Mantlo, at least, can affirm that such homegrown measures have worked for his brother. Any film proceeds and further donations that “Guardians of the Galaxy” helps generate for Bill, he said, “will hopefully set up his future forever.”

Mr. Giffen, however, has taken away a different lesson from his experiences.

“It’s like the advice I give my granddaughter,” he said. “If you can help it, don’t be a creator. Be the exploiter. They get rich. You never will.”

Nicole Perlman Q&A: How 'Guardians of the Galaxy' Went From a Writers Program Project to Record-Breaking Film - Script Magazine

Well, it was funny. I think in a sense because it was such a long shot that this would be the project that got chosen out of the writers program to be made, I was given enormous freedom. I chose Thanos as the bad guy. I chose the members of the team. I came up with the storyline and everything. They let me choose all of that. So that was completely unaided. We did go through a lot of different versions. One of the upsides of being hired on this writing program where you’re not working for anybody else, you’re not allowed to go pitch around town, you’re only working for Marvel, was that we had the luxury of time. They had me for two years and then they brought me back freelance for another draft. So I got to try out different combinations of characters, different relationships. There were versions where Quill and Gamora were romantically involved, versions where they weren’t romantically involved. There were a whole lot of variations that you don’t usually get when you’re hired to do a big blockbuster. On this one, I was able to try out a bunch of different things until we had the right combination. But I’m really happy that, you know, as we were getting closer and they realized that this was something that they were actually going to make, Thanos became more of the overarching bad guy instead of the direct antagonist. Ronan the Accuser was written in as the direct antagonist so that they could save Thanos for future movies. That was probably the only major concession that had to be made in regards to setting up the slate for future films and how it fits within the MCU.

Good read if you're interested in the genesis of GotG.
