Will Netflix's "Iron Fist" Keep The Character's Mystical Elements?

Marvel has yet to settle on a direction for the series, which centers on Danny Rand, a martial artist who (in the comics, at least) wields the Iron Fist, a mystical force that allows him to channel his chi into his fist.

The character's backstory includes the other-dimensional city of K'un-L'un, the dragon Shou-Lao the Undying and other mystical elements, which the website contends are part of the dilemma. Just how far in the direction of wuxia are they willing to go in a slate of series with "street-level" heroes?

Faraci notes that there were moments in "Daredevil's" first season that "opened the door for weirdness" in "Iron Fist. Perhaps by the time Danny Rand's solo series comes along -- following "Jessica Jones," "Luke Cage" and, presumably, the second season of "Daredevil" -- they'll have sown the necessary seeds to be able to seamlessly introduce the mystical elements. After all, with "Doctor Strange" on the horizon, the MCU is going to have to deal with the concept of magic sooner eventually.

No casting has been announced, and there's no showrunner in place, so there would seem to be plenty of time to iron out those details.

Why the hell wouldn't you want to involve that rich history/backstory?

"Marvel's Daredevil" Casts Elektra for Season 2

As made official on Marvel.com, ?lodie Yung has been cast as Elektra, one of the most famous characters in the Daredevil mythos.

Here's the official description: "Yung will play Elektra, a mysterious woman from Matt Murdock's past whose dangerous and exotic ways may be more than he can handle." The first season of "Daredevil" contained references to Elektra, but the character was not seen on screen.

"Exotic ways"??

Still excited, though.

Marisa Tomei as Aunt May? Like a lot of peeps here during the offseason, lol, Sony is now just being silly. mhihi:

Marissa Tomei is 50.

She is still pretty goddamned attractive.

And she is also about the right age to be the older sister of a sibling who has a 15-year-old son.

Yeah. Not sure it's a fear of the mystical as much as a fear of cost overruns. The lure of the Netflix shows is you can do characters that are not big enough to do movies for, the trade off is the costs have to be adjusted. Best case scenario, they have to film that stuff in some Tibetan monastery...factor in fx and it makes no sense. I agree with you though, without Kun-Lun Danny Rand is just some schmuck in capri pants.

Yeah. If they can't make it work from a cost perspective, just mention it. Don't make a big thing of his origin and do it later.

I don't know what you people are talking about, Aunt May has always been hot. Why do you think Doc Octopus was always all over her? :P

Aunt May seems to look younger with every new movie series. For the next reboot, which will probably happen two years after this one, lol, Aunt May will be played by Abigail Breslin. mhihi:

Leaked Deadpool Trailer from Comic-Con 2015

Staff, Dorkly.com (7/12/15)
Okay, leaked Deadpool trailer - you may be shakily filmed and not of the best quality, but between Ryan Reynolds' (expectedly) perfect rendition of the merc with a mouth, TJ Miller saying Deadpool's cancer'd up face looks like Freddy Krueger [expletive] a topographical map of Utah, and the fact that HOLY [expletive] WE'RE ACTUALLY GETTING AN R-RATED DEADPOOL MOVIE...this will suffice for now.
