The Avengers/Marvel movies

Ok, from this point forward

SPOILERS ahead

You have been warned

Thor stole the movie for me. Between Ragnarok and IW, Thor is now one of my favorite characters. LOVED the forging of Stormbreaker.

Some random thoughts:

1. Doctor Strange was great in this! I don't care for him too much, but he's so much more fun in an ensemble.
2. I LOVED Tony in this.
3. THE FREAKING RED SKULL REVEAL. I was the only one who reacted in my whole theater. I was so disappointed.
4. Needed more Cap and more Cap's beard. Hubba hubba.
5. I cried when Spidey turned into a dust bunny. I know everyone's going to come back, but that was sooooo heartbreaking.
6. I didn't really care for the Wanda/Vision romance. Just....meh.

I effing loooooooved this movie though. I was geeking out the whole time. I was worried about it feeling too bloated with all of the characters, but I thought they balanced everything really well! And I loved all the different team-ups. Thor and Rocket?! Okoye and Black Widow?! And Rocket wanting Bucky's arm?! Heavenly.

And how ****ing great was Thanos?! He's so convinced that he's doing the right thing that he would do absolutely anything to accomplish it. Now THAT is a great villain.

Bravo, Marvel.

Wow I did not mean for my post to be so long. I just have a lot of feelings about this movie.

Took my daughter on Friday afternoon, really enjoyed it...probably my favorite out of the MCU in awhile. It took me awhile but I finally understood why Strange gave Thanos the Time gem, given he told Stark he would let him die if it came down to him or the stone. Part 2 should be fun.

Feel bad for Black Panther and Spidey. It's as if they don't really fit. Wonder if they are gonna be given the same push as the Phase 4 stuff.

I think T'challa and Peter will be A-OK without much of a push on the bigger arc. I could be reading the room wrong, but after this and the next few films, fans could be looking for something smaller and more intimate outside of Antman and Wasp.

.

I was joking after the film with a friend, and I said "You know how well they nailed it!? I feel just as blaaaaah about Wanda and Vision as I ever did in the comics."

Okay question....aren't there additional GOTG, Black Panther, and I think Spiderman movies in the works? Will these be prequels or can we assume they'll all be coming back?

Loved Drax trying to be invisible while seemingly eating corn nuts (or pops). Also loved the look at Starlord's face upon hearing Footlose was never the greatest movie ever made.

Spidey's "I'm not ready" exit was reminiscent of David Tennant's doctor who goodbye ("I don't want to go"). That was impactful.

I'm still in love with Karen Gillan.

People had to actually yell at many moviegoers in our theater not to leave once the credits started.

I haven't seen it yet; but now I feel like I have and I loved it.

Just kidding. I did think there were too many characters, but mainly because Thanos alone was great enough.

totes agree with all your thoughts but especially this. i resisted thor/hemsworth for the longest time but i LOf***ingL’d at starlord talking about his muscles and rocket being called rabbit the whole time. i’m a little soft because my kid still dies laughing at “trash panda”. movie was a little busy but not too much, i enjoyed it!

Hate to not have any thoughts of my own but Cammy you frackin' nailed it for me. Agree with everyone of these statements. Great emotional moments in the movie as well. Really loved how they told Thano's side of the story. I could almost feel some empathy for him ... Loved the dialog interplay between disparate characters (from different movies/universes). Thank you Cammy!

Thanos is the real protagonist in Avengers: Infinity War — why he's unlike any Marvel villain yet

This is the absolute truth. In changing the motivations of Thanos, Marvel has presented a very interesting question. Add Josh Brolin's fantastic performance(and it is) and you have the best non-GOTG movie they have ever made. I was worried...the Russos have been solid, but very realistic to this point. But I realized, about the time Wong and Doc Strange entered the flick, that they understood a more COMIC BOOKy approach was necessary. Not sure how much input James Gunn had, but, let's be honest, his influence shows. If you cut to the chase, this IS a Guardians movie as much as an Avengers movie. Saw it again and I was amazed at how perfectly it skirts the line on ridiculousness. It's MARVELous how they managed to pull it off. I truly hope the second half lives up to the MAJESTY of the first. I know folks gripe about the proliferation of comic book flicks, but this transcends any complaints. Maybe the biggest most grandiose movie ever made. Am I waxing...sure, a little. But, not really. Well done Marvel/Feige/Russos and all concerned.

P.S. I really wish Ebony Maw could be brought back. Terrific character.

BTW, BEST BUY already taking pre orders for the 4k Steelbook with blu-ray and digital download. You know I loved this, because the only Marvel flicks I own are the Guardians 1 and 2.
