Greg Rucka has just announced at the Image Comics Panel at San Diego Comic Con, his new series with Michael Lark, Lazarus, describing it as “The Godfather meets Children Of Men. Hard sci fi in dystopian future, the main character gets hurt a lot, gets up and keeps coming at you.”

You had me at Rucka.

Top Shelf Panel: Eddie Campbell Confirms From Hell Companion For March 2013 | Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movies and TV News and Rumors

At the Top Shelf panel, Eddie Campbell announced that From Hell Companion from he and Alan Moore is ready to go and will be released in March 2013. Campbell describes is as From Hell from another angle. He said it is 288 pages long and will be structured around selections from Alan’s script and will have quotes from Alan and new and previously unreleased art from Campbell, as well as essays from Campbell. At the end of the panel, Campbell added that much of the book will surround the creation of From Hell and the back and forth that took place between he and Moore.

Hmm. Probably be worth buying.

Edgar Wright Appears On Stage At Comic-Con And Reveals Ant Man | Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movies and TV News and Rumors

Wright said that he has wanted to adapt that story, To Steal an Ant Man, for quite some time and that it’s still his plan before teasing us and then, to a swooning crowd, unveiled his test footage for the film.

The sequence was largely unfinished. It started on ant man, looking down out of an air vent and into a corridor, off towards an elevator door that’s being protected by two CIA-looking suited-up goons. He grows to full size, leaps through the air and shrinks as he does so, delivering his kick at ant size, but will full-scale weight.

During the scene he lands on the barrel of one of the agents guns and runs along it, mini-sized. It’s a good demo of what this power provides for the action scenes.

The character has not been cast, and the performer in the suit was “only” a stand in, but Wright did speak a little about the costume. While what we saw won’t be final, it did indicate what they are going for – a mixture of the contemporary ant man look and the silver age design.

He would.

As far was Luke Cage goes, I want someone like Saul Williams, but a beefier Black actor, with a poetic age, an unknown, to play Luke Cage!

So many many possibilities to play an interesting young black man with that character.

I think Idris Elba should be Black Panther, I like Mackie as Black Falcon, and Michael(Black Dynamite)Jai White as Luke Cage.

Ohh, I like Idris Elba as Black Panther!

But Jai White as Cage, no offense, but have you seen the recent commercials where a black girl googles how Luke Cage got his powers, well, I was just informed that Cage is being revisited by black youth these days and that's why I want a young charismatic black actor from NY to play him! It would be interesting.

But yet, Jai White is such as a cool guy and he is is part of the community, but he is a bit older. He has apparently trying to get a better Spawn sequel off the ground. Now that would be better for him, no?

No. The word from McFarlane has always been that a Spawn sequel would actually have very little Spawn. I think MJW would be perfect because I want some of that '70's blaxploitation groove to be present in Luke Cage. I am a fan of the original version circa PowerMan/IronFist and Black Dynamite had that, forgive me...in spades.

See, I see a Spawn sequel like the first Hellraiser, about a monster, and then the monster shows up and speaks poetically and makes you afraid of forbidden knowledge, the things that go dark at night.

Don't think this will be done though, like ever. :(

Well, it's been almost 20 years(right?) since the original, so I wouldn't hold my breath.
