Watch Joe Lynch?s Short Film TRUTH IN JOURNALISM Starring Ryan Kwanten | Collider

Writer/director Joe Lynch?s (Wrong Turn 2) new short film Truth in Journalism has been released online, and Marvel fans should be pretty pleased with the finished product. The film premiered this year at Comic-Con and is a sort of follow-up to last year?s The Punisher short Dirty Laundry, which starred Thomas Jane and was produced by Adi Shankar. Truth in Journalism, which was also produced by Shankar, stars Ryan Kwanten as a New York City journalist whose work is being chronicled by a French documentary film crew. A rather exciting reveal takes place later in the short, but I won?t spoil that here

So maybe that's how DC breaks into the Justice League flick. You pair up Supes/Batman in a theatrical release and develop the other characters thru television shows. It's kind of brilliant if they can pull it off because you can use relative unknowns to help keep costs down while still having recognition from the masses. I can hear Marvel-philes now saying 'but then it's not special'...which is a valid argument, but the counter is that you have a tv show that rakes in ratings(if successful) while using a film for a massive team up. Interesting. It's like the crossover theory in comic books.

It's a very smart move. Try and make the characters more well known before putting them in a movie. Occasionally, I watch the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon on Disney XD and I've seen the Guardians Of The Galaxy on it a couple of times already. It's a great way to get people, especially kids, into the characters.

It reminds me of when the Green Lantern movie came out (*shudder*) and you heard young people wondering aloud why they made the character white when the one from the cartoon was black.

Gotta let them seep into the American consciousness.
 
2 GUNS Review. 2 GUNS Stars Denzel Washington, Mark Wahlberg, and Bill Paxton | Collider

Kormakur’s movie is always looking for a shortcut even though it has a straight shot with the strength of its two lead stars. It doesn’t need a gratuitous shot of Paula Patton’s breasts or Paxton’s character repeating a tough-guy monologue about how to effectively play Russian roulette, especially when one of the guys he’s interrogating has absolutely no reason to stay quiet. These kinds of moments are staples of the genre, but in the case of this film they never hold anything together. They’re scattered about like ineffective markers that rarely guide us to anything more than a reminder about the genre we’re watching as if the guns and explosions weren’t a tip off In place of an honest, brawny action flick, 2 Guns is all glamor muscles.

Hellraising screenwriter Ray Spass has one last chance to restore himself to former glory as he struggles to write a new studio tent-pole movie, Annihilator. The film centers around the adventures of Max Nomax, a sci-fi anti-hero caught in an epic struggle against the authoritarian artificial life form Vada and it’s chief assassin, Jet Makro.

But when Max Nomax appears in real-life, Ray thinks it’s a side effect of the brain tumor he was recently diagnosed with. Despite all logic, Nomax is real, having escaped from an impossible prison with no memory. Ray’s tumor is the key—it contains all Nomax’s adventures, downloaded into Ray’s head before Nomax escaped.

Ray needs to finish his screenplay in order to get the information out of his head and shrink the tumor. Nomax needs Ray to finish his screenplay so he can remember who he is, what ultimate crime he has committed, how to defeat Vada and save the universe from annihilation – if the unstoppable Jet Makro doesn’t reach Nomax and Ray first.

FANTASTIC FOUR Reboot Could Star Miles Teller as Mr. Fantastic aka Reed Richards | Collider

To be clear, I have no problem with Miles Teller leading blockbuster movies. The guy has charisma to spare. But if The Wrap is correct, then it sounds like he’s being considered to play Reed Richards proper rather than some Reed Richards flashback. If this is the case, it could be a shock to the system for some fans. And perhaps that’s the way it should be. If you’re going to go with a reboot, then go for it rather than just remaking the 2005 film but with a new cast.

We previously reported that Michael B. Jordan could be a contender for Johnny Storm a.k.a. The Human Torch, and that casting seems even more likely not only because of his previous work with Trank on Chronicle, but because of the acclaim the actor is receiving for his terrific performance in Fruitvale Station. When Jordan was mentioned in connection with Johnny Storm, it was a report that made sense. Johnny is the young hothead of the group (no pun intended), and he’s surrounded by more mature members. If Teller or someone around his age is the choice for Reed Richards, then that means probably everyone in the Fantastic Four is going to be in their twenties. If you’re expecting Mr. Fantastic to be the middle-aged scientist with the graying temples, it may be time to start adjusting your expectations.

Aren't we done with Samuel L Jackson playing "Samuel L Jackson" in movies? He was awesome in Django Unchained but other than that I can't think of the last movie where I actually enjoyed him in a role.

Enough stunt casting of this man!!!

Probably...but it hasn't reached Depp-ian proportions yet. Your point is valid, I don't think Sam Jackson has stepped out of his comfort zone since the under-rated Changing Lanes.

More importantly...have you seen Pacific Rim yet?

No and I don't expect I will any time soon.

This summer proved to me what I have suspected was the case for a few years now....

I've officially outgrown movies where nothing happens but 'splosions and fighting.
 
Besides, there was chaste sorta snogging and comedy relief amongst the fightin and splodin. Man cannot live on fightin/splodin alone.
