What Marvel Is Not Doing With Doctor Strange - Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movie, TV News

Faraci said that Marvel is no longer going to do origin stories. The Joshua Oppenheimer script that has been lying around since 2010 is out the window. Jon Spaihts is working on a totally new script without any of the previous stuff. They start with Doctor Strange already established as Sorcerer Supreme.

That....would be awesome. Time to change the template. Strange would be terrific for the new model. To play with teasing the origin through subtle flashbacks without having to devote an entire movie to it is a brilliant concept(that I was screaming for years ago!!!!!)

Couldn't agree more. Who wants to spend 30-45 minutes of a Dr. Strange movie with him climbing the mountains of Tibet and then learning? Let's skip straight to ****in' Dormmamu!

My memories of reading Strange it seems that his story was told, even in the comics, briskly via flashback. The whole alcoholic Dr angle is more interesting than the rest of it, but I don't want to see 60 some odd minutes of that.

9 Worst DC Comics characters to star in upcoming films

I would SOOOOOOO go see a Danny the Street movie directed by David Lynch(as they suggest here).

I am crossing my fingers for an El Extrano movie.

Review: 'Sin City: A Dame To Kill For' Starring Jessica Alba, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Josh Brolin, Eva Green And More | The Playlist

In the years since the first "Sin City" appeared onscreen, Hollywood has delivered a slew of comic book adaptations that have appropriated the same fealty-to-visuals approach, so in a new decade, Rodriguez's once-unique vision no longer feels radical. In fact, it feels a little surpassed. The customary nature of “Sin City: A Dame To Kill For” means the impact is certainly lessened. Iif you’re not looking for reinvention and loved the first "Sin City," then you'll probably love the sequel. [C+]

Joseph Gordon-Levitt Gives Sandman Movie Update

Speaking with Moviefone, Gordon-Levitt said Sandman is still in the early stages:

“Right now we’re working on a script. It’s me and Goyer and the screenwriter and Neil Gaiman, as well as the good folks at DC and Warner Bros. It’s a really cool team of people. It’s a lot of the same people who worked on the Nolan Batman movies. It’s really exciting. There’s not a script yet, we’re still kind of working it out because it’s such a complicated adaptation because Sandman wasn’t written as novels. Sin City was written as a novel. Sandman is 75 episodic issues. There’s a reason people have been trying and failing to adapt Sandman for the past 20 years.”

When pressed if he’d be the one to finally make it happen, Gordon-Levitt sounded optimistic:

“You know, we’re still in the middle of it, so I don’t want to make any claims, but I think we’ve got the right ideas.”

The actor also confirmed that they are very much thinking about the Sandman universe as a whole, adding, “We’re definitely talking about [it] in terms of a whole world.” Warner Bros. would no doubt like to launch a franchise with the first Sandman movie, so hopefully Gordon-Levitt, Thorne, and Goyer can crack this thing.
