James Gunn Has Already Begun Casting For ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 2′

When asked about casting newcomers for Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Gunn revealed that the process has already sort of begun. He’s already talking with someone about playing the character he has in mind, a new Guardian, as he labels it. We don’t yet know who that is, but in terms of the core Guardians of the Galaxy roster, we’re guessing based on Gunn’s words since the first movie came out, that there will be two additions to the team: someone we’ve met and someone we haven’t who he’s talking to now – even if it’s informal talks at this point.

What we do know from this latest Q&A is that one new main character will be joining the team in GOTG 2 and from our talks with Gunn during the Guardians of the Galaxy press junket, he made it clear that he wants at least two female members on the team in the next film.

So... Mantis? Moondragon? Phylla Vell? Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers)?

Denver Comic Con '15: Spotlight On Garth Ennis - Crossed DoA, War Stories, Preacher And Never Telling The Same Story Twice

Ennis said he’ll “probably always be dropping in and out of writing the Punisher” and maybe more with Nick Fury since he “thoroughly enjoyed” working on him a few years ago.

Best news ever.

Returning again about the Preacher show, Ennis was asked if he was upset that he hasn’t been involved in the filming process. Ennis said he’s personally made no “effort” to either. Preacher is one of his top 10 projects, but he doesn’t think about it every waking moment like some people seem to. He’s “perfectly content to watch what they do”. He’s read the script for Issue #1, and “liked it very much”. He’s just not interested in telling “the same story twice” and if they filmed his comics faithfully, they’d run out of material in “about a year and a half”.

Glenn Fabry Starts A New Sketchbook...

Glenn Fabry: Sketchbook 3 is an up and running Kickstarter project that has the aim of funding a new collection of art by this award winning comic book artist and cover artist of Hellblazer, Preacher and 2000AD to name but a few.
If the project reaches it’s full potential it will buy Glenn some much needed time to finish the highly anticipated “Mute” comic, written by film director, Duncan Jones. This is a comic strip project that Glenn has been pouring his blood sweat and tears into, and he can’t wait to get it done in the painfully detailed and elaborate way he loves! With great rewards to be had and a rare opportunity for the artist himself it is a project any comics or art fan should check out!
