The Comic Books and Comic Book movies thread

OMG!! You mean I won't be able to buy trades of Birds of Prey anymore????? But what will I give out as favors for my uber girly bachelorette party where we hug each other and buy ****ing italian take out and giggle the whole night?

I don't think Birds Of Prey is in any danger. I'm a little more worried about Vertigo...

Thanks to Amazon and Ebay...Nothing is ever out of print!!!! NOTHING. Does anyone else think this is an attempt by the big two to make tpbs more 'collectible'? I can see it now, foil covers...variants...SHEESH!!!!!

I dunno, man. There are a number of TPBs I've been trying to get my hands on that go for too much because they're out of print. Go look at the prices on Amazon for the 4th and 5th trades of X-Statix. They go for a little cheaper on eBay, in the rare instances that they show up, but not a whole lot cheaper.

I was thinking about wanting to write a comic book story about a female secret agent who's an alcoholic and then realized that's been done before.

But then again aren't most secret agents alcoholics?

I was listening to Daft Punk, shaking my head, and the Asian hottie next to me at the computer lab looked at me, like, um, what's his problem.

Female writers thought women WANTED to see a bunch of female crime fighters hug each other, order ****ing Italian take out, and be all emo because their crime fighter boyfriend broke up with them.

(And no, I'm not going to let this go...)

OR......

Once comic books and "Geek Culture" went mainstream... profitability became the main goal. Not "art".

When was the last time a socially conscious rock song or movie topped the charts? It's been a while right?

Geek Culture is now in the spotlight and it's gained it's own momentum.

Nobody wants a comic book about the Iraq War when they can watch The Red Hulk beat up The Green Hulk twenty pages at a time spread out over a year.

Or fill their rooms and movie shelves with every licensed product imaginable from TRON : Legacy.

THAT'S RIGHT. I BLAME YOU, COMIC BOOK FANS!!!!

Red Hulk, don't you mean RULK?

That's almost as bad as the Spider-Man Clone Saga! I am still drinking in order to get over that. mhihi:
