The Comic Books and Comic Book movies thread

Or (most of) the cast. Or the costume and set design. Or even the cinematography.

HA! Because clearly all asian people look alike and the audience won't notice that they cast chinese actresses in japanese roles.

Btw, Zhang Ziyi's line of "Can't you see? Every step I have taken, since I was that child on the bridge, has been to bring myself closer to you" in her broken english that either is her really talking that way or a poor attempt at talking fobby is the funniest line in the movie.

back to comics!
cinderella-fables-are-forever-1-cover.jpg

Started reading the next set of Cinderella comics. From Fabletown with Love was ok...not like original Fables great. I'm hoping that Fables are Forever will be better. At least the covers are cool looking...

That doesn't mean the Chinese actresses aren't good. Or are you not a Michelle Yeoh fan anymore? There were good Japanese actresses in it, too. And good Japanese actors. And they did a good job.

FLASHPOINT: FRANKENSTEIN AND THE CREATURES OF THE UNKNOWN #1
Covers: Doug Mahnke
Writer: Jeff Lemire
Art: Ibraim Roberson

I'm in. Grant Morrison's "resurrection" of this Frankenstein character in the Seven Soldiers mini series was the best thing about a great series, and Jeff Lemire is awesome. Not familiar with the artist, but...

... he'll probably be just fine.

Scooby-Doo To Meet Batman Again On ‘The Brave and the Bold’ | Geeks of Doom

Now, they?ll all be teaming up again for an episode of Batman: The Brave and the Bold, called ?Batman?s Strangest Cases,? which will air on Friday, April 1 (6:30/5:30c) on Cartoon Network.

Paul Reubens (?Pee-wee Herman?) will host the episode, written by comics superstar Paul Dini, and will reprise his role as Bat-Mite.

The episode is said to celebrate various Batman parodies like the aforementioned Scooby-Doo Meets Batman ? best known for the way Batman somehow keeps losing his pants ? as well as a Mad magazine spoof and an unauthorized Japanese manga.

I'd rather it be a reboot (they can't just let Bullseye go to waste like that!!), but either way I'm in.

no more reboots. Hell, that's why these things don't take off. Anyone who endured AffleckDevil is going to bristle at having to give it another start. If nothing else is gained, at least take the story to another level. A nice quick summary and then move on.

I really don't think that's true.

How many times can you tell the origin story? It's unecessary to keep rehashing the same tired formula. Come out swinging with a brand new story. Hell, most of the comics have tons of material to choose from.

Is David Slade really going to reboot Daredevil, and if so, why? - HitFix.com

If you're asking yourself why 20th Century Fox is moving ahead with a new "Daredevil" movie, it's simple. If they don't make another movie, the rights will eventually revert to Marvel Studios, and they'll be able to reclaim their character and do whatever they want with it. They could happily drop Daredevil into an "Avengers" movie, whether it makes sense or not, if they owned the character outright.

Instead, Fox is going to do whatever they can to hold onto the character, and that means they have to make a new movie about Matt Murdock and Daredevil and the Kingpin and whatever other characters they hope to keep control of in the future.

Ohhhhhhhhh k now it makes more sense.

Greg Rucka writing Punisher?!?!?

**** YES, MY SON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was half expecting Ennis to be writing DD, since they just announced he's coming back to Marvel. Not sure I care enough about the character to bother with a Waid run, but... we'll see.

It was just... the Affleck one was so terrible. Despite having some truly excellent casting (Michael Clarke Duncan, Jennifer Garner, Joe Pantoliano, etc), it was just dog****. I like Colin Farrell just fine, but his Bullseye was intensely annoying and Affleck blew the whole time.

I've heard the Director's Cut is a lot better, but I haven't been able to talk myself into watching it.

They should reboot Elektra, too. I'm thinking Olga Kurylenko...
