The Comic Books and Comic Book movies thread

I actually agree with BT about Cinderella...but I find it odd that you(BoobyTrap) hate Rose Red so much. I.M.O. Cinderella is more of a vapid see you next thursday. Rose Red may be emotionally unstable but it's due to abandonment issues and the self esteem issues that closely follow. Cut the kid a break. She hitched up her drawers when she had to and fought through some crippling emotional issues...

And that, Ladies and Gentlemen, is true geekdom. Projecting huge emotional issues on comic book characters. I make NO APOLOGIES!!!!!

I hate RR so much because she decided to mess with Boy Blue, whom I am very fond of. She's a giant slut in my book and a c*ck tease too. I'm glad he told her to **** off in the end. You can put her down on me list along with other "Comic book characters that need to get shot in the face" list. :becky: Although! I am not caught up on the trades, so it's possible I MIGHT change my mind.

Cindy is fun! Although I wish they'd get better writer for her comics (he's terrible!).

Hrrrmmmm not sure if I like this. $10 says they make Tony Chu a white dude. $20 says they **** it up completely.

I understand the skepticism, but Showtime probably doesn't need to worry about as many things as a regular cable station. I think they can pull it off.

Pull off what? Not using a white dude? I doubt it. I will be very surprised if they don't re write and **** it all up.

Didn't they change The Walking Dead already? Weren't people already decrying a change to that bad ass chick that comes in later?

They changed it story-wise, but not race-wise.

And as far as I know, no one has actually been cast in the role of the badass black character, but the list that was posted was, at least, all black actresses.

Hmmm that is kinda my point. Rose Red is a more complex character. Driven to do regrettable things because of emotionally scarring events in her life. And she overcomes and redeems herself when people really need her. Cinderella is just a one-dimensional tart.

Dunno...maybe it's just because of the stereotype that damaged gals are...more...active. Even though, emotionally, Rose Red would be a headf***, Cinderella would be a dead f***.

Empowered is a really good read, by the way. A lot of fun.

Christopher Nolan On Board To Reboot Batman In Justice League Movie Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movies and TV News and Rumors

Jeff Robinov, president of Warner Bros.’ motion picture group, has told The LA Times that the studio is warming up for a new attempt to bring The Justice League to the big screen.

Perhaps most surprisingly, they’ve tapped Christopher Nolan and Emma Thomas to produce. One hugely profitable iteration of Batman isn’t enough from this team – Warners expect two, and in quick succession.

So, while the League film is apparently on the fast track and the studio are looking to get it out of the gates pretty soon – maybe even 2013 soon – they’re not planning to keep the same Batman. Instead they’ll let Christian Bale’s Bruce Wayne step backwards into history – but note that Robinov says nothing of a rebooted Superman. It would seem possible, even likely, that the current intent is to have Henry Cavill appear as just the same version of Kal-El that he’s working up with Zack Snyder already.

And, of course, they have a Green Lantern already set up and ready to debut this June, with Ryan Reynolds’ contract probably tied up with “just in case” Justice League clauses.

Look, I get that it should probly be Crowe...and I can see him pulling it off. But damnitall, every time I look at Butcher I cannot help but see Ray Stevenson in the part.

Stop it!

Butcher has to be Clive Owen!
