Ennis and Robertson to reveal the Butcher’s origin?|?The Beat

Not to be confused with BUTCHER BAKER, RIGHTEOUS MAKER, Joe Casey and Mike Huddleston’s scabrous look at superheroes, this july we’ll see BUTCHER, BAKER, CANDLESTICKMAKER #1 by Garth Ennis and Darrick Robertson, a mini series which will reveal the origin of The Butcher, “The most violent man in comics.” PR and a three page preview below.

Hurm. Having a crisis. After enjoying catching up on Fables & The Boys thru tpb's(I think 8 for Boys, and 14 for Fables) I decided to make the jaunt weekly to my local retailer and commit to picking up single issues. Maybe I am spoiled, but I did not enjoy them as much as I have the tpb's. So that experiment is over. Although it makes my brain itch to know I could still be reading the story in increments, I just will have to deal, and absorb the big picture storywise in the trades. That being said...I like that Highland Laddie was released as a BOYS tpb and introduced as part of the continuity. Hopefully they will hurry up with another trade of the actual Boys run that has been going on concurrently. And, not to be too fanboy, but I know in my heart that the Butcher miniseries is going to challenge my conceptions of this comic, as Highland Laddie did. Long story short. if you love comics...READ THE BOYS trades. They will hold a special place in my heart always right alongside Ennis's PREACHER.

‘Thor’ and ‘Captain America’ Sequels Confirmed; ‘Cap 2′ is a Modern Tale

Kevin Feige told D23 Magazine (via IGN),

Thor will go off into a new adventure, and Captain America will continue to explore the modern world in another film of his own. We hope that holds true for the characters appearing in that film — Black Widow, Hawkeye, and the spy organization, S.H.I.E.L.D. —all of whom are more than worthy and capable of carrying their own films.

And, we’ve got a lot of other characters we’re prepping and getting ready for film debuts: the world of martial arts, these great cosmic space fantasies, Dr. Strange, and the magic side of the Marvel Universe. There are many, many stories to be mined.

Nice choice of words. Was he wringing his hands whilst $$$$$$ danced in his eyes during the interview. Can't wait till Marvel is so successful w/movie franchises that they can kill off characters and retool costumes just for the sake of 'mining' product. :coke: <blatant product placement, sponsored by Marvel...

Really looking forward to this.

John Constantine ? DC?s Man In Black

Guess he'll be back quite soon.

Doc, save me some money. Why do I want to stay away from this Blackest Night/Brightest Day stuff again?

Well Brightest Day isn't over yet.... but as of the second to last issue it's got **** all to do with John Constantine and only a tiny bit to do with Swamp Thing.

But MAINLY you want to stay away because it sucks.

Also....

Red Lanters
Orange Lanterns
Yellow Lanterns
Blue Lanterns
Indigo (yes Indigo) Lanterns
Violet Lanterns

Lame.

Hi Alll,

I did not see this thread till today. I have not kept up too much on the latest storylines but I have been collecting the original comic book artwork for the last 34 years.

Most of my collection is from the horror comic artist such as Berni Wrightson, Mike Mignola and Steve Bissette a few others I have met over the years.

If anyone would like I can post a link to our online gallery.
