DC Comics Relaunch: Batman And Robin, Dark Knight

IGN has been handed the full details of the Batman relaunch by DC Comics.

Bleeding Cool has already shown you the covers to Batman #1 and Detective Comics #1, but IGN also has covers for Batman And Robin #1 and Batman: The Dark Knight #1

Batman #1 is written by current Detetcive Comics scribe Scott Snyder and, as we reported, Greg Capullo.

Detective Comics #1 is written and drawn by Batman writer/artist Tony Daniel.

Both books will star Bruce Wayne in the lead, and will be the only Batman going,

Batman And Robin #1 is written by Peter Tomasi and Patrick Gleason, with Damian as Robin.

And Batman: The Dark Knight #1 will be by David Finch, making it the second number one in three issues.

IGN report an announcement on the future of Batman Inc to come. There?s no news on Nightwing #1,

Jeff Lemire’s Essex County To Be Filmed Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movies and TV News and Rumors

And now visual effects supervisor on X-Men: First Class, John Dykstra will direct a new film Super Zero, an adaptation of the first of the trilogy, Essex County: Tales Of The Farm, from a screenplay by John Carr.

The film will be shot live action, but will, naturally, include heavy special effects sequences.

Both the comic and the film tell the story of an “orphaned 10-year-old who goes to live on a farm with his uncle. As their relationship grows strained, he befriends the town’s gas station owner, a former pro hockey player, and the pair escape into a private fantasy world of superheroes and alien invaders.”

Cool. Haven't read Essex County yet, but I've got a copy on the shelf waiting for me.

DC Women Kicking Ass - Chiangland: Don't give a damn 'bout my bad reputation

Inspired by a late-night viewing of The Runaways, and partly an exercise to see if I could make star-spangled pants and Wonder Woman go together. The idea started with Wonder Woman (I briefly entertained using an Ian Curtis Batman) but the idea of an all-girl rock band with Black Canary,Black Canary, Zatanna and Batgirl seemed too good to pass up.

The original black and white art will be auctioned off at Heroescon this weekend, June 3-5, so please come visit one of the best comic conventions in the country. It’s a fantastic family show with great guests and excellent programming, and it’s one of my personal favorites. See you there!

This is by Cliff Chiang, the guy who will be drawing the new Wonder Woman book.

Legendary Effects Guru John Dykstra to Direct ‘Super Zero’ | /Film

John Dykstra doesn?t actually have a great many film credits ? far fewer than you?d expect from someone who began working in the early ?70s ? but now he is set to direct his first film. Super Zero will be based on the graphic novel Tales From the Farm, the first in Jeff Lemire?s set of Essex County stories, and the project is expected to make its first big showing next month at Comic Con.

Variety says that John Carr has scripted the film based on Jeff Lemire?s graphic novel. Steven Gilder and Alex Chorches are producing. The film is planned as live-action ?with extensive vfx sequences.?
