The Comic Books and Comic Book movies thread

Gene Colan worked on some really good horror comics back in the seventies that I have been able to read thanks to those essential Marvel trades.

MarvelWatch: Deadpool MAX II by David Lapham and Kyle Baker will launch in October, following on directly after the end of Deadpool MAX.

**** YES! When I heard that book was getting cancelled, I was so sad. Not surprised, but sad. It's a WEIRD ****in' book, but it's also really funny.

I don't know why they feel the need to break it into a new series, though.

Oh wait, yes I do. $$$$$.

Goth Superman?

It makes sense...he has to avoid the sun to hide his powers. It's actually really clever. Think about it.

I've always been a sucker for DC. The return of Deathstroke, the Blackhawks and all the other old school call outs may be too much for my nostalgia hungry soul to resist. A return of Kobra or Kamandi and I'm writing a check.

OMG! Kobra! :D

I used to (I might still) have this!

Having gone through the '90's has made me tired of all of these 'relaunches' that usually don't last very long. *shrugs*

DC needs the relevance that this will get them. Hell, even the pub from the eventual 'return to normalcy' will get them a bump in sales. I am sure that comic store owners are counting on the casual fan interest that all of the news coverage is going to get them. This is how things work now. I admire DC for staying out of the 'wheel of continuity' sweepsteaks until now. But to survive you have to sacrifice, in this case...honor.

While You're Waiting for more GAME OF THRONES George RR Martin's FEVRE DREAM out now

Set in 1857 along the muddy Mississippi, FEVRE DREAM introduces Abner Marsh, a remarkably ugly man who longs to captain the fastest steamboat on the river. When a pale, mysterious gentleman named Joshua – who keeps strange hours and stranger friends – approaches him with an offer of partnership, Abner’s dreams appear to come true… though he may have unleashed a nightmare on the unsuspecting shores! Adapted by Hugo-nominated author Daniel Abraham and artist Rafa Lopez, this graphic novel stays faithful to Martin’s original dark vision, immersing the reader in the tortures and joys of vampire society.
