MorrisonCon: Max Landis, James Gunn Butt Heads At Celluloid Heroes Panel - Comic Book Resources

This sounds like a pretty awesome panel. The recap here is worth a read. Landis, Gunn, Darick Robertson and Grant Morrison.

waitaminnit...Landis is arguing that Chronicle isn't a superhero movie???? Are you kidding me? It fully is...and it's a great one at that. Is he gonna claim World War Z isn't about zombies?(oops wait, that's Max Brooks...well, the points the same.)

Will Frank Quitely Publish His “Bumheids”? | Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movies and TV News and Rumors

I CAN confirm that Grant and I spent some time convincing Frank Quitely to publish his BUM HEEEDS strips, some art from which was shown at the con. They’re these dudes with arses where their heads should be and mouths where their genitals should be and so forth. Pretty ****ing amazing. We think he’s gonna go for it. He’d be dumb not too. It’s a licence to print money.

I'd buy it.

O'Barr Returns With New Crow Series - Broken Frontier - Comic Book and Graphic Novel News & Community | News

IDW Publishing is thrilled to announce that The Crow’s original creator, James O’Barr will be launching a brand-new story featuring the vengeful avian guide, THE CROW: SKINNING THE WOLVES, a three-issue miniseries set to debut this December. Fans of O’Barr’s dark signature style will be delighted to see him backed by co-artist Jim Terry with a story woven of the same supernatural mystique that made The Crow a favorite of fans worldwide.
Set in a European concentration camp in 1945, Skinning the Wolves investigates a world where the dark harbinger of vengeance is dispatched in response to one of history’s greatest atrocities and the ultimate evil that perpetrated it.

"This is a story I've had planned for ages; 20 years maybe. It’s a tough tightrope to walk, using a concentration camp as a setting for a story, but I took care in not exploiting the situation for entertainment purposes. I did layouts and a rough story outline, but got sidetracked with the increasing popularity of the original film and graphic novel of The Crow and never found the time to finish it,” said O’Barr. “I met Jim Terry a few years ago and was really truly impressed with his Eisneresque style and thought it would be perfect for him. He’s gone above and beyond my expectations and I'm very proud of him and this book."

Now Is The Time To Preorder Warren Ellis’ Complete Freakangels In Print Form | Bleeding Cool Comic Book, Movies and TV News and Rumors

Okay, admittedly, it is still all available to read online for free. Right there, on the Avatar website. All of it. Free. Still.

But if you, like me, would prefer to have all of Warren Ellis and Paul Duffield‘s Freakangels in print, in a box set and on your shelf, then now is the time. Amazon have dropped the price from $100 to $58, ahead of it’s sale date in November.

I've yet to read past the second volume, but what I've read so far was pretty good. And this is a damn good deal.
